I groaned as I raised my hand to rub my throbbing head. I had just came from my last exam at uni. I've been studying for this music technology exam all week, so I've barely slept.
caffeine, I thought, I need caffeine. I pivoted on my heels and changed my course from my dorm to the nearest Starbucks, which had become my second home as I needed a lot of coffee to keep me up for studying.
I arrived at the Starbucks and as I opened the door I could see my favorite barista (is it still barista even tho its a guy???) at the counter. he had blonde hair brushed into a tall quiff, and bright blue eyes. he was incredibly tall, his waist was about 3 inches higher than the counter; and he always spelled my name wrong.
now, I don't take it personal, I don't think it's an attack on me or anything, I (kinda) understand (not really) how the name Calum can be tricky. but it's so much fun to read a new incorrect spelling on my cup everyday and watch him pretend to be busy just so he can avoid my gaze as I read the name written on the cup.
(stupid watt pad deleted everything after this so I have to rewrite it rip me)
I walked up and leaned over the counter as he walked over to the counter and smiled at me.
"hey Calum, what could I get you?" he pulled a black sharpie out of his pocket.
"One venti cotton candy Frappuccino please" I overly smiled at Luke as he rolled his eyes and began to make my drink. I walked over to the pick up counter and rocked on the balls of my feet until my drink came. I heard someone clear their throat and I looked up to see Luke holding my light pink drink. I took the cup from him immediately looking at the spelling of my name; not giving him a chance to turn away.
I smirked up at Luke, "is Colum really the best you could do Loke?" his face flushed to the color of my drink as his smile disappeared.
"did you just call me loke?" he tilted his head a little to the right and I had to bit my lip to not coo at him.
"well I mean as long as you spell my name wrong, I should be able to pronounce yours wrong too, right?" he starts shaking his head and scampering and stumbling over his words but I just wink and say "see ya Loke" and walk out the door.

okay it's been weeks since I told luke I'm gunna start to pronounce his name wrong and he hasn't got my name right yet. this whole 'pronounce your name wrong' thing was supposed to make him spell my name right, not make me broke and addicted to starbucks' cotton candy Frappuccinos. and plus I feel like he's getting cocky, he knows it's bothering me and he thinks he's winning. I don't intend to lose a game I started.I walked into starbucks and walked up to Luke. "another cotton candy frappe calum?" he smirked and began pulling a cup from the stack.
"you got it, and how about we make this cup interesting?" Luke raises his eyebrows and leans over the counter at me. "oh really?"
"how about if you spell my name right, I'll buy you dinner?"
"like a date?" I hesitated, and nodded.
"yeah like a date" he smiled really big and pushed back off the counter.
"prepare to buy me dinner Calum" he called over his shoulder as he went back to make the drink.
I walked over to the restroom while he made my drink and when I came back out he was waiting by the pick up table with my pink drink in hand.
I walked over and he handed me my drink and didn't turn away like he does usually. I look down at the cup and see the words "thanks for buying me dinner, Calum" my eyes widened, and I was a studdering mess. all the was really coming out of my mouth was "how?"
"well I had some help" Luke shyly turned to a familiar black haired guy working the register. I blinked at him and called out: "Michael!" my roommate, who apparently works at Starbucks now, turned and smiled at me.
"hey cal!" I frowned.
"you helped the enemy?" he rolled his eyes.
"luke here was complaining all morning about how 'I can't spell this guy's name' and whatnot so I was like 'my roommates calum' and I told him how to spell your name."
"I think that classifies as cheating" I raised my eyebrows and placed my hands on my hips.
"no no no, how about I pay for half of dinner instead, yeah? I just still really wanna go out with you" Luke mumbled the last part but I could still hear him clearly and my face flushed to the color of my drink.
"y-yeah, we can still go out" Luke smiled and took off his apron.
"Is now good?" I looked outside and saw it was dark out.
"yeah nows perfect" he jumped over the counter, earning a yell from Michael, and linked his hand with mine.
"see you at home Mike!" I called over my shoulder as I pulled Luke out the door with me
