Just as Aleph predicted, starspeed passed by quickly for the Astronites. Natalie rested again, changed into a UEF uniform, tucked her pennar necklace beneath it, and then joined her friends in an intelligence room to review everything that had happened in the Avast System.
It was agreed that Yona's mission brief to Command Castle would include everything except information about Captain Hope's belongings. Natalie wanted them to remain private until she saw what was in the chest. She had safely stowed it in Star's bedroom, along with Captain Hope's sword and Arbaz's hat.

When the Independence passed through the Elem Cloud and reentered Elem's blue warmth, the Astronites flew Star to Command Castle, where they found Lieutenant Gatton and his platoon awaiting them at the V-rail. As usual, the Astronites shook hands with the soldiers and catered to their photo requests and tidbits of conversation. Neither Gatton nor his soldiers were prepared to suddenly see Adam, Barbara, and David appear with Natalie, Yona, and Jake. Seeing all the Astronites together (plus Bolt Boy) excited them beyond measure.

About halfway through the ride, something completely unexpected happened to Natalie and Yona. A strange itch overcame the area around their lips. Without warning, the two of them sprouted white hairs! The UEF soldiers jumped back as two of their favorite Astronites suddenly sported goatees. Several of the soldiers started recording Natalie and Yona.
"What the hell?!" Yona cried out as she pulled out white strands. "What is this?!"
"I've got it too!" Natalie nervously worried as she patted her beard. "Why's it so soft?!"
