After my one day of triumph, things had gone back to normal as I kept my temper to myself.
Though I had to admit it felt really good to just yell at him. Though I knew I'd get in trouble eventually if I kept just yelling at people, no matter how terrible they were, I'd end up slipping up and saying exactly what I was thinking.
Your a cocky asshole who needs to shut the hell up, is what I'd really wanted to say, though I'd managed to tone it down and stay out of trouble.
Jordan, though, left me alone for a couple days after that, so it was definitely a win. Ryan however continued on his usual patterns of teasing me.
Though luckily it was Friday today, and I only had to make it through today.
"Bye dad, see ya tonight." I called out after giving him a hug goodbye.
"Bye sweetie! Oh, molly, the old couple's house sold, the new family is moving in on Sunday." My dad announced as I stood in the doorway.
Raising an eyebrow, I nodded, "cool."
After waving goodbye I trudged out to the bus, where the usual people were waiting.
The passer-byes stared off obliviously as Ryan advanced looking even more devious then he always did. Oh great.
"Hello, princess." Ryan greeted derogatorily, grinning as a new way to torture me probably began forming in his dark twisted mind.
Taking a deep breath I clenched my jaw shut, attempting to blend in with the passer-byes. It didn't work, Ryan walked right up, yanking me out of the crowd.
I shook my arm out of his grasp, glaring at him before turning away.
"You to busy imagining Jordan shirtless to talk to me today?" He pestered, his grin growing, "what? not even a shut up?"
He's just trying to get to you, don't let him, I reminded myself, calming my temper that was trying to get free.
"Oh sorry, do you only respond to ugly?" Ryan jeered, moving back in front of me.
Turning my back again, I hurried into the just arrived bus. Best 15 minutes of my average day.
Thankfully Jordan still didn't feel like bugging me, for a few days now I'd been able to be on time to class. What a concept!
Lunch was uneventful, thank god, since the jerk crew was missing, probably had detention for some stupid delinquent thing. Who knows, but I was just glad that they weren't here, whatever the reason may be.
I smiled as the last bell rang and I climbed onto the bus, I'd survived yet another week in hell.
My dad was home when I got there since he had the night shift today.
"Welcome home!" He called out as he most likely heard the door shut behind me.
"Hey!" I called back, dropping my backpack beside the door and plopping down on the couch.
Being smart had it's payoffs though, I'd finished all my homework in class and could just hang out with my dad and watch movies all weekend.
After a few minutes my dad emerged from his room, giving me a bright grin and taking up the empty part of the couch.
"How was school?" He inquired, propping his feet on the coffee table.
"Good."
He nodded, "so I talked to the old couple about the new family."
My curiosity perked up, "what'd they say?"
"Well there won't be any baby sitting that's for sure." My dad added with a laugh, "actually it's a nice couple with a son that's in high school if I recall right."
"Oh." I said deflatedly, hopefully he'd be younger, maybe like freshmen age. Freshmen were adorable in a kid like way and never talked to me.
My dad squeezed my shoulder, "oh come on, maybe you guys can be friends."
I shook my head, "no thanks."
With a laugh, he patted me on the back before heading to the kitchen to make dinner.
We spent Friday playing card games and laughing about random things like how weird the face cards really are. We played everything from poker to war.
Weekends with my dad made me feel like I didn't need friends cause I had him. He was better than a friend, he was family.
Saturday was elected as movie day. We watched nearly 7 movies with a weird mix of themes from horror to comedy to cartoon.
After a full two days of fun and games my dad had to work.
Sadly he had the daytime shift today, Sunday, so I'd have to find something to do by myself all afternoon.
After hugging him goodbye I tried watching another movie but it just wasn't as fun after all the movies we'd watched yesterday. As I stretched out on the couch I watched a Uhual truck pull up next door. Oh yeah. Those people were moving in today.
The workers went back and forth moving boxes and furniture into the house. For whatever reason I found it pretty interesting and decided to sit under the willow tree and watch the workers unload.
It was actually impressive how fast they emptied the massive truck. Absently I played with the edge of my skirt and pulled up random pieces of grass.
It was actually a really nice day, sunny and warm but a not scorching due to the perfect breeze. I dozed off as the sun warmed me and I leaned against the tree.
When I woke up I wasn't sure how long I'd slept but the scene had changed a lot since I'd fallen asleep. The Uhual truck and the workers were gone and two vehicles had taken up the driveway.
A silver Toyota and a black Harley motorcycle.
Hmm that's a interesting combination, I thought vaguely as I sat observing the street and new neighbors cars.
Though I was caught off guard by the sound of a slamming door and an unfamiliar voice shouting, "FINE!"
After the door slam I heard loud footsteps as a boy stormed out of the new neighbors house and stood on the sidewalk with his hands on his hips and his jaw set.
My breath caught in my throat when I got a good look at him, he was definitely a senior and also extremely good looking.
Even angry, his perfect jaw line and crystal like sapphire eyes were heart stopping.
Oh my gosh! did a model just move in next door, I thought dreamily as I continued to stare at his perfection as I sat against my tree.
I would've stopped staring like a stalker if he hadn't been so damn amazing. His dark brown hair was the perfect amount of messy and just slightly spiky, not to mention his perfectly tanned skin and muscles.
Ok, yes, I was drooling over him in my mind but I couldn't help it. He was even wearing a gray v-neck shirt which for some reason always made a guy better looking in my opinion.
"Woah." I whispered as I continued to stare at what I believed may have been a model.
Though I'd forgotten how quiet it was and that even a whisper was audible. His head snapped toward me as he scanned the area for the source of noise.
I attempted to blend into the tree but I wasn't as invisible as I wished I had been. His eyes locked on me, shooting me a glare which only made him more attractive.
His jaw clenched even more, but he didn't say a word, instead he turned around and hopped onto his Harley motorcycle and zoomed away without even a helmet. Damn.
