I was still smiling as we pulled to a stop outside Cole's house. The engine of his motorcycle went quiet, but instead of getting off, Cole swung legs around so he was sitting facing me.

"How long will your dad be gone?" Cole asked, glancing at my house.

"Not sure, couple more days maybe." I shrugged, honestly not really caring when he got home, "why?"

"So your not busy tomorrow then?"

"No...." I trailed off, staring at him and trying to decipher what he meant.

He rolled his eyes, "your clueless."

I threw my hands up in mock surrender, laughing a little, "sorry! Your being really vague."

Cole put his hands on my knees staring into my eyes, his tone slightly lowered, "no I'm not, your just really oblivious. I'm obviously trying to ask you out."

My mouth opened in an ooooh shape, as I thought to myself, ok maybe I am a bit clueless.

"So you gonna answer or just stare into space?" I heard Cole continue, snapping me out of thought.

"Oh yeah, um yes I meant yes." I stammered trying not to look to insanely overjoyed.

He smirked, "see ya tomorrow then princess." Cole leaned in, kissing my cheek briefly before hopping off the motorcycle and walking inside without even a backward glance. Always wanting to look cool, I chuckled to myself still unable to stop smiling.

I jogged back to my house, almost skipping cause I was so happy. I still couldn't believe he'd asked me out. Thinking back, I was amazed he'd even talked to me at all after how we met the first couple times. First I stared at him like an insane stalker, then I'd thrown a pen at him in class, it was amazing he hadn't avoided me completely...

Yet here I was, smiling uncontrollably after an amazing day with him. If that wasn't luck I don't know what to call it.

It was only about 6 so I flopped down on the couch, flipping on the tv.

"What..." I mumbled, as I stared at the screen that displayed the news and my father's face. I sat up straight, alertly staring at the tv as the broadcaster spoke.

"Tony bates, involved in business scandal, the company caught in fraud." The broadcaster began, "Aeroton co. has been illegally laundering money to fund a shut down project. The project, a plane invisible to all military tec, was opposed and denied by the government when proposed. Aeroton co. continued the project without government consent using illegally obtained money. CFO tony bates, was heading the illegal laundering and is being charged with robbery. This case is still unfolding and will be covered again at noon tomorrow."

I stared in shock at the screen, not believing what I'd just heard. The remote dropped from my hand, that can't be true, I thought.

Again I began feeling as if my dad was constantly lying to me. Was anything I knew about him true? Was my whole relationship with my father a sham? So many lies, I thought, my head spinning with overwhelming feelings of betrayal.

I turned off the tv, staring at the dark screen in disbelief. Standing up, I marched toward the door, not quite sure where I was going but I was upset and couldn't just sit there.

Mrs. Huntley was outside, unloading groceries. She glanced up and waved, "hi Molly."

Normally I would've been polite and waved back or said something. But I was so pissed at my dad and just generally so upset I didn't want to speak. I kept going, angrily walking to no where in particular.
