Cole bit his lip awkwardly, "um, this is uh, Lilly Caster."

I raised an eyebrow, becoming slightly pissed as the girl ran at him, attacking him with a bear hug. He patted her awkwardly on the back until she released him.

"Oh my gosh! I've missed you so much!" Lilly exclaimed, "you just disappeared and I never knew what happened!"

I stared at Cole questioningly, crossing my arms, "please explain."

"I'm Cole's girlfriend." Lilly stated bluntly with an airhead smile.

I raised my eyebrows in challenge, "excuse me? I'm his girlfriend."

"What..." She trailed off as both our confused gazes turned on Cole who had quite a bit of explaining to do.

Cole shifted from foot to foot nervously, "um, Lilly, this is Molly... My girlfriend."

She opened her mouth in hurt shock, before her look turned to being completely pissed as her face became beet red, "WHAT?!"

I gave a fake apologetic smile, "sorry to burst your bubble blondie." I added harshly, maybe over doing it a little, but she'd claimed my boyfriend was hers so I was pissed as well.

Cole shot me a look as he continued his explanation, "Lilly, when I moved I told you I wasn't doing long distance."

"But now it doesn't have to be long distance!" She protested with a hopeful smile.

He shook his head, "no Lilly. It wasn't just that, though I'm not sure you want to know the real reason."

"Of course I do!" She snapped defensively, crossing her arms.

Cole sighed, tilting his head a bit as he gave in, "ok, I just told you it was the long distance thing so you wouldn't be to crushed. I broke up with you because you were honestly getting annoying."

Even though I didn't particularly like her, I kinda felt bad as I could see her face flush redder just slightly. I could see tears of hurt welling in her eyes.

Lilly gulped slightly, sniffing as she tried to seem ok, "well I hope your both happy then! And Molly, maybe you'll be lucky enough to not get your heartbroken by him like everyone else has."

Knitting my eyebrows, I caught her by the wrist as she turned to leave, "who's everyone"

Lilly sniffed again, wiping her eyes with her free hand, "back in our hometown, down in Florida near Orlando, everyone in school knew him as the bad boy player. Pretty much every girl at our school had their heart broken by him. I thought maybe I'd be the exception but I guess I was wrong."

She wrenched her arm out of my grasp, shaking her head as she ran off to her family's table.

I turned back to Cole, shock and disbelief engulfing my face, "is that true?"

"Yes, but-" he started, but I shook my head running out the door before he could finish.

I sat down on the curb, head in my hands as my mind went to worst case scenario mode.

What if it's all a scam, just some twisted scheme to ruin me then break my heart. What if I'm just the next one to fall for his tricks? How can I trust him now? My mind raced with a million doubts as hot tears slid down my face.

I didn't want to ride home with Cole, I needed time to think. Though thinking was dangerous when I was stuck in worst case scenario. Suddenly I remembered a friendly face, Emma. Quickly searching her up, I found her number, being ms.popular, she wasn't hard to track down. Dialing, I sighed in relief when she picked up on the second ring.
