Tanjiro, how are your injuries? Unfortunately, I'm able to move right now. I wanted to speak with Giyuu, but I don't think I can in the nick of a moment. I'm currently being treated by Law. This is an incredibly important time. We must all come together and do our best for the upcoming situation.
Would you please talk to Giyuu? He always turns his back and goes it alone. Please help him face forward. Will you be persistent when you talk to him?
"That's what Master wants me to do." Tanjiro explained the content of a letter that was given from Ubuyashiki to him. Ubuyashiki wants Tanjiro to help Giyuu face forward.
"I see, that explains it." Brook rubbed his non-existent chin. Now he knows why Tanjiro wants him to help in knocking some words inside the Water Hashira's head.
"I went to you because you're good with words. Can you help me reason with Tomioka-san?" Tanjiro pleaded to Brook.
"What am I, a therapist? Alright, I would definitely help you. But you owe me curry and a glass of milk after this okay?" Brook agreed, but now without a certain specification.
"So......should we approach him right away?" Tanjiro ask should they just chased after Giyuu until Giyuu finally opens to them. He was ready to took the Master's word true to the core.
"I don't think that will be a good idea. His mind is like a storm brewing right now. It's good to leave him alone for a while then we could ask the question. Right now isn't the right time." Brook gave Tanjiro his perspective of what can they do in the current situation.
"Oh! Okay!" Tanjiro agreed to it.
Some Time Later,
Giyuu is sitting on the ledge of a cliff, seems to be in his own thoughts. He is enjoying his time alone. He is deep in his own thoughts, remembering the time when he first met someone that he could truly call as a friend. A kind boy with a heart of gold, that prioritize others before himself. The boy is strong, and might be the strongest asset for the Demon Slayer Corps if he's still standing here today.
The boy died protecting him, protecting others. Giyuu despises himself for being weak back then. Maybe if he wasn't such a burden, his friend might be here. He didn't understand. It was suppose to be him who died that night, not the boy. Guilt is entrapping him, chaining him in a prison within his mind.
If he wasn't so powerless back then, he might be able to stand proud beside his friend. He might be a Hashira, but he never felt that he belonged in the pedestal. He didn't feel like he was worthy at all of the achievement. He didn't deserve a place in the Demon Slayer Corps nor among the Hashiras.
"Ah, so this is where you're hiding." The voice breaks the silence and the peace he had. Giyuu turn around to see a silhouette of a ghost. It was Brook who wears a pure white kimono, with triangle-shaped headband and two arrows stuck in his body - an appearance befitting of a ghost.
Giyuu squinted his eyes. He thought that he could be alone with his thoughts and now, the ghost is here. Giyuu didn't say anything but keep on staring over the horizon. Brook walk up to him slowly.
"Good afternoon, Giyuu-san." Brook greeted the Water Hashira. The Water Hashira didn't reply. Brook could tell that Giyuu prefers being alone.
"Enjoying the beautiful sight, eh?" Brook commented on the spot that Giyuu chose. He had to admit that Giyuu have a great taste in picking spots like this. It's probably the skill he picked up since he got no friends to talk to.
"I could sense that you are very much disturbed by something. Shadows of the past perhaps?" Brook pretty much knows that Giyuu is hiding a deep scar in his heart, chained by the feeling of guilt. Giyuu tried to hide it, but Brook was spot on.
