Nicks pov:

I couldn't shake the anxious knot twisting in my stomach as Charlie and I sat in the waiting room of the doctor's office.

My hand found his, and I squeezed it gently, trying to offer some semblance of reassurance. Charlie smiled weakly, his eyes betraying the nervousness he was feeling.

This wasn't just any routine doctor's visit. This was Charlie's first prenatal check-up, and the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on both of us.

As a couple, we had talked endlessly about the possibility of starting a family, but now that it was actually happening, the reality felt overwhelming.

When our names were called, I stood up, offering Charlie a supportive smile as we followed the nurse into the examination room.

Charlie took a deep breath, his hand trembling slightly as he settled onto the examination table. I stood by his side, my heart pounding in my chest as we waited for the doctor to arrive.

When the doctor finally entered the room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of relief. He greeted us warmly, his calm demeanour helping to ease some of the tension in the room.

As he began the examination, I watched intently, my mind racing with a thousand questions and concerns.

I listened as the doctor explained each step of the procedure, trying to absorb as much information as possible. Charlie remained surprisingly quiet, his gaze fixed on the ultrasound machine beside him.

My heart skipped a beat when the doctor finally turned on the machine, revealing the grainy image of our unborn child on the screen.

I reached for Charlie's hand, squeezing it tightly as we watched in awe as the tiny heartbeat flickered on the monitor.

In that moment, all of my fears and anxieties melted away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of love and wonder.

I looked at Charlie, his eyes shining with unshed tears, and felt an indescribable rush of emotion. We also found out that the baby is about 10 weeks old

As we left the doctor's office, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude wash over me. Gratitude for Charlie, for our unborn child, and for the opportunity to embark on this journey together.

Whatever challenges lay ahead, I knew that we would face them head-on as a team.

Walking hand in hand down the hallway, I felt a newfound sense of purpose and determination.

Our lives were about to change in ways we could have never imagined, but I was ready to face the unknown, as long as Charlie was by my side.
