Charlies pov:
The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a warm light across the hospital room as I cradled our newborn daughter in my arms and our son in nicks. Exhaustion washed over me like a tidal wave, but the overwhelming sense of joy and wonder at our babies arrival kept me wide awake.
Nick sat beside me, his eyes fixed on our son with a look of pure adoration. He reached out to gently stroke the baby's tiny fingers, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.
"He's perfect," Nick whispered, his voice filled with awe.
I nodded in agreement, feeling tears welling up in my eyes. "They are absolutely perfect."
As I looked down at our daughter's tiny face, a sense of responsibility washed over me. Not only were Nick and I responsible for providing for this little life, but we also had the monumental task of choosing a name for them.
Nick glanced up at me, his eyes filled with excitement.
"Have you thought about any names yet?"
I smiled tiredly, feeling a rush of emotion as I considered the weight of choosing a name for our daughter.
"A little," I admitted, "but nothing feels quite right yet."
Nick nodded understandingly, his hand reaching out to gently squeeze mine.
"It's a big decision," he said softly, "but we'll find the perfect name for them."
I leaned back against the pillows, feeling a sense of comfort in Nick's reassuring words.
"Do you have any names in mind?" I asked, turning to look at him.
Nick's expression softened, his eyes reflecting the love and tenderness he felt for both me our daughter and our son.
"I've been thinking about it," he admitted, "but I want to hear your ideas first."
I took a deep breath, feeling a surge of emotion as I thought about the significance of choosing a name for our precious miracle.
"Well," I began slowly, "I've always loved the name Taylor and kai. It just feels right somehow."
Nick's eyes lit up with excitement as he considered the name.
"Taylor and kai," he repeated, testing the name on his tongue. "I like it."
I felt a sense of relief wash over me, grateful that Nick liked the name as much as I did.
"What about you?" I asked, turning the question back to him. "Do you have any favourites?"
Nick's face broke into a wide smile as he nodded enthusiastically.
"I've always been drawn to the name Emily and eli," he confessed, his voice filled with warmth. "It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
I nodded, feeling a surge of affection for Nick as I listened to him talk about our daughter's potential name. "Emily and eli," I repeated softly, savouring the sound of it. "I love it."
We sat in comfortable silence for a moment, lost in our own thoughts as we considered the names we had chosen. Finally, Nick reached out to gently stroke our daughter's cheek, his touch filled with love and tenderness.
"Whatever name we choose," he murmured, his voice filled with emotion, "they'll always be our little miracle."
I leaned into Nick's embrace, feeling a deep sense of gratitude for the life we had created together. "Yes," I whispered, pressing a tender kiss to our daughters forehead, "our little miracles."
