Nicks pov:

As I pulled up to my mum's house, my hands trembled on the steering wheel. Today was the day Charlie and I were going to share our life-changing news with her.

My heart raced with anticipation and nerves, but I knew I had to stay strong for both Charlie and myself.

Taking a deep breath, I turned to Charlie, who sat beside me with a mixture of excitement and apprehension written on his face.

"You ready for this?" I asked, trying to sound calm despite the butterflies in my stomach.

Charlie nodded, his hand finding mine and squeezing it tightly.

"As ready as I'll ever be," he replied, offering me a reassuring smile.

Together, we made our way to the front door, and I rang the doorbell, my heart pounding in my chest henry and nellie barking loudly from inside the house. When my mum opened the door, her face lit up with a warm smile.

"Nick, Charlie, what a lovely surprise!" she exclaimed, pulling us both into a tight hug. "Come on in, it's been too long."

We stepped inside, the familiar scent of my mum's home wrapping around us like a comforting blanket. Henry runs around us excitedly, and nellie slowly walks over to us as she's a really old dog now

We settled in the cosy living room, my mom offering us tea while we caught up on each other's lives.

After a while, I cleared my throat, my palms starting to sweat with nerves.

"Mum, there's something important we need to tell you," I began, stealing a glance at Charlie for support.

My mum's smile faltered slightly as she sensed the seriousness in my voice.

"Of course, sweetheart. What is it?"

Taking a deep breath, I reached for Charlie's hand, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Charlie and I are going to have a baby," I blurted out, the words hanging in the air like a weight on my shoulders.

There was a moment of stunned silence as my mom processed the news, her eyes widening in surprise.

"Oh my goodness," she whispered, her hand flying to her mouth. "That's... that's wonderful news!"

Relief flooded through me as I watched my mom's initial shock give way to genuine happiness.

"Really?" I asked, a hopeful smile spreading across my face.

My mom nodded enthusiastically, tears of joy shimmering in her eyes.

"Yes, really! I'm going to be a grandma!" she exclaimed, pulling us both into another tight hug.

As I wrapped my arms around my mom and Charlie, a wave of gratitude washed over me. In that moment, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we had the love and support of my mom to guide us through this new chapter of our lives.

And as we sat together, basking in the warmth of my mom's love and acceptance, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and excitement for the future that lay ahead for our growing family.
