Nick and Charlie 6 years into the future

a very important moment

*a few months later*

Charlies pov:

Nick and I strolled down the bustling street towards the doctor's office, our steps slow and deliberate. The air was crisp with the promise of spring, and the scent of blooming flowers filled our lungs.

Despite the bustling city around us, there was a serene calmness between us as we walked hand in hand, lost in our own thoughts.

Today was a momentous day for us. We were finally going to find out the gender of our baby. It was a day we had been eagerly anticipating ever since we found out we were expecting.

As we approached the doctor's office, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness swirling in my stomach.

Nick glanced over at me, a nervous smile playing on his lips. "How are you feeling, Charlie?" he asked, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension.

"I'm feeling excited and a little nervous," I admitted, squeezing his hand reassuringly. "But mostly, I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl."

Nick smiled, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Me too, Charlie. Me too."

As we entered the doctor's office, the familiar scent of antiseptic greeted us, and I felt a wave of apprehension wash over me. This was it, the moment of truth. I took a deep breath and reminded myself that no matter what the gender, our baby would be loved unconditionally.

After a short wait, we were ushered into the examination room by a friendly nurse. Nick and I took a seat on the examination table, our hearts pounding in unison. The doctor entered the room, a warm smile on her face as she greeted us.

"Hello Nick, Charlie, how are you both feeling today?" she asked, her voice gentle and reassuring.

"We're feeling excited and a little nervous," Nick replied, his hand still tightly intertwined with mine.

The doctor nodded understandingly before gesturing for me to lie back on the examination table. She began the ultrasound procedure, spreading a cool gel on my abdomen before placing the ultrasound wand gently against my skin.

As the images of our baby appeared on the screen, Nick and I held our breath in anticipation.

The doctor pointed out different features of the baby, explaining each one in detail. My heart swelled with love as I gazed at the tiny life growing inside me.

"And now for the moment you've been waiting for," the doctor said with a smile, adjusting the ultrasound wand slightly. "Would you like to know the gender of your babies?"

Nick and I exchanged a glance.

"Babies?!" We both say in shock

The doctor smiled and focused the ultrasound on a particular area of the screen

"Yes, it appears that  one of your babies was hiding from us from your last scan," she smiles

Me and Nick were in absolute shock

"I know that this is a complete shock for you both, but would you still like to know the gender of them?" she asks

We glance over at each other, exchanging a smile before both of us nod with nervousness and excitement

"You have both a girl and a boy!" she announced, her voice filled with warmth and excitement.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I turned to Nick, my heart overflowing with love and joy. We were having a daughter, a precious little girl, and a little boy who would bring endless happiness into our lives.

Nick pulled me into a tight embrace, his eyes shining with tears of happiness. We held each other close, lost in the overwhelming emotion of the moment. Our babies, our precious miracle, were already bringing us closer together than ever before.

As we left the doctor's office hand in hand, a sense of wonder and anticipation filled the air around us.

We were embarking on a new chapter of our lives filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising our son and daughter together. We were both still filled with absolute shock that we are having twins and not one but we'll still love the other one the same and the first

The sun dipped below the horizon as we made our way home, the city lights twinkling in the distance.

Nick and I walked in silence, lost in our own thoughts as we contemplated the future that lay ahead of us. It was a future filled with love, laughter, and the boundless joy of parenthood.

As we arrived home, we were greeted by our excited daisy, who wagged her tail furiously as he sensed our happiness. Nick scooped her up in his arms, showering her with kisses as I watched with a smile.

"Looks like someone's excited to meet her little brother and sister," Nick chuckled, scratching behind Daisy's ears.

I laughed and nodded, feeling a surge of warmth fill my heart. Our little family was growing, and I couldn't wait to see what adventures awaited us in the years to come.

As we settled into bed that night, I snuggled close to Nick, feeling the gentle rhythm of his breathing lull me into a peaceful slumber.

Tomorrow was a new day, the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and happiness that filled our home.
