Charlie glanced at the clock, realizing it was already mid-afternoon. Lily and Oakley had been napping for a while, giving him a rare moment of peace.

He leaned back against the couch, letting out a tired sigh. It had been weeks since he and Nick had spent quality time together, just the two of them. Ever since Lily and Oakley came into their lives, their priorities had shifted entirely.

As if sensing Charlie's thoughts, Nick entered the living room, a warm smile on his face. He looked tired too, but there was a glint of excitement in his eyes.

"Hey, Charlie," Nick said, crossing the room to sit beside him. "How are you holding up?"

Charlie managed a weary smile. "Doing okay. I'm just exhausted."

Nick nodded in understanding. "I know, it's been non-stop with the babies. But I was thinking... maybe we could take a break tomorrow. Just you and me."

Charlie raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What do you have in mind?"

Nick hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I was thinking... how about we go to the beach? It's been ages since we've had some time to ourselves, and I miss just being with you."

A wave of warmth washed over Charlie. He couldn't remember the last time they had gone on a proper date, just the two of them. And the beach sounded perfect.

"That sounds amazing," Charlie replied, a smile spreading across his face. "I'd love to go to the beach with you."

Nick's smile widened, relief evident in his eyes. "Great!"

Despite the chaos of parenthood, Nick always found a way to make him feel loved and cherished.

With Lily and Oakley still peacefully asleep, Charlie allowed himself to relax, looking forward to their much-needed day at the beach, just the two of them.
