It was crowded on a Monday morning. CC didn't have time to go to her favorite cafe spot, so she went to a nearby one instead.
As she navigated through the bustling cafe, she accidentally bumped into someone's coffee, thankfully not fully spilling it.
Izzy scowled, pushing CC's elbow away. "Watch where you're going, Walker." She grabbed a napkin, cleaning up the small amount that spilled.
CC rolled her eyes. "Now you know how it feels."
It was mid-week, and Izzy found herself browsing through the shelves of a local bookstore. As she reached for a book on the top shelf, someone accidentally knocked into her, causing her to drop the two books she was carrying.
Izzy let out an exasperated sigh, seeing it was CC of all people. "Seriously?" she muttered, bending down to pick them up.
CC stifled a chuckle. "Careful there, Bronson. Clumsy much?" she couldn't resist making a small remark.
The taller girl rolled her eyes. "Oh, haha." She said sarcastically. "What brings you here? I doubt you know how to read."

Since the incident with the dog, CC found herself unable to shake thoughts of Izzy from her mind. In a desperate attempt to distract herself, she turned to social media. Maybe looking through Izzy's posts would relieve something in her brain that would get her to stop thinking about her.
But it almost felt like she had accidentally manifested Izzy, because throughout the past few weeks, it seemed as though CC and Izzy were inexplicably drawn to each other, like two magnets pulled together by an unseen force. No matter where CC went – the cafe, the store, or during her morning runs – Izzy was always there, seemingly around every corner. The constant presence of her was starting to wear on CC's nerves.
"What are you looking at?" Ava's sudden appearance behind CC caught her off guard, causing her to quickly hide her phone and turn it face down. CC's heart raced as she tried to conceal what she had been looking at, which happened to be Izzy's instagram account. "Nothing!" CC exclaimed a little too loudly, her voice echoing in the quiet classroom. She instinctively covered her mouth, realizing her outburst had drawn attention.
"Are you seriously looking at her account again?" Ava chuckled in amusement. CC's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as Ava's amused chuckle washed over her. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, feeling exposed and caught in the act.
"I... uh..." CC stammered, struggling to come up with a plausible explanation. She knew she couldn't deny it. "It's not what you think." CC muttered, her voice barely above a whisper. She couldn't bring herself to admit that she had been scrolling through Izzy's Instagram account yet again, unable to shake Izzy from her thoughts.
A sneeze echoed through the classroom, catching Olivia's attention. She turned to her friend Izzy with a playful smirk. "Someone must be thinking about you."
Izzy rolled her eyes good naturedly, used to Olivia's superstitious quips. "Yeah, sure." She replied with a chuckle, brushing off the comment as she returned her focus to her notes. A poke at her elbow brought her attention back to Olivia.
"You ready for the game this Friday?" Olivia grinned. "It's gonna be an easy win."
"You're not wrong there. The Sirens aren't exactly that good." Izzy agreed, simultaneously taking notes for their upcoming test. Olivia wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, nudging Izzy with excitement. "How about we celebrate with a party if we win?" She said eagerly.
Izzy hesitated for a moment, but deep down she knew she couldn't say no. Always the people pleaser, after all. Except when it came to CC. She didn't mind bothering her.
"Fine, we'll go." She replied tentatively.
"Yes!" Olivia patted her friend on the back. "I can always count on you. Here and on the games"
Izzy couldn't help but smile at the small praise, a warm feeling spreading through her chest at Olivia's words.
