The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow in Izzy's bedroom as she sat on her bed, her friends Olivia and Maya perched on either side of her, while CC was downstairs with Emilia, giving the three friends some space. They listened intently as Izzy recounted the events of the previous night, her voice trembling slightly with emotion as she described the night with Sophie.

Olivia's eyes blazed with fury as she clenched her fists, her protective instincts kicking into overdrive. "I swear, if I ever see her..." she muttered darkly, her voice laced with anger.

Maya nodded in agreement, her expression sympathetic. "I can't believe she'd do something like that," she said, her tone incredulous. "I'm glad your sister was there to stop her."

Izzy nodded, a sense of gratitude washing over her as she looked at her friends. "Yeah, I don't know what I would have done if Emilia hadn't shown up," she admitted, her voice tinged with relief. "I'm just glad it's over now."

Olivia and Maya exchanged a meaningful glance before turning back to Izzy, determination shining in their eyes. "Don't worry, Izzy," Olivia said firmly, placing a reassuring hand on Izzy's shoulder. "We've got your back. If Sophie decides to show her face again, she'll have to deal with us."

Izzy couldn't help but smile at her friends' unwavering support, a sense of reassurance flooding through her. "Thanks, guys," she said gratefully, her heart swelling with affection for her friends.

As the weight of the morning's events began to lift, Izzy's friends sensed an opportunity to lighten the mood. Olivia raised an eyebrow teasingly, glancing at Maya before turning her attention back to Izzy. "So," she began, a twinkle in her eye. "Did CC sleep over last night?"

Izzy's cheeks flushed pink as she tried to hide her embarrassment. She was definitely not going to tell them that they woke up wrapped in eachothers arms. "Um, yeah," she admitted sheepishly, feeling a flutter of nerves in her stomach. "We were just watching TV."

Maya smirked knowingly, nudging Izzy playfully. "Watching TV, huh?" she teased, her tone filled with amusement.

Izzy rolled her eyes, swatting Maya's arm lightly. "Shut up," she muttered, though there was a hint of laughter in her voice.

Olivia grinned, leaning in conspiratorially. "You know, Izzy," she said with a smirk. "You two seem pretty cozy together. Almost like... more than friends."

Izzy's heart skipped a beat at Olivia's words, her cheeks flushing even darker. "We're not more than friends," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I think I like her," she spoke very quickly.

Maya raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing at her lips. "Oh, really?" she teased, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

Izzy felt a rush of panic as she struggled to find the right words. "I mean... maybe?" she admitted hesitantly. "But I'm worried I think I only feel like this just because... you know, she was there after Sophie and everything."

Her friends exchanged a knowing glance before Olivia shook her head, a reassuring smile on her face. "Izzy, trust me," she said gently. "It's definitely not just because of that."

Maya nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we've never seen you look at anyone the way you look at CC," she added, her tone sincere. "And the way you light up whenever you talk about her."

As Olivia and Maya's words sank in, doubt crept into Izzy's mind. Did CC even like her in that way? And did she like girls to begin with? The questions swirled in her mind, casting a shadow over the warmth she had felt moments ago.

"I don't know," Izzy admitted, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "I mean, what if she doesn't feel the same way? And what if she doesn't even like girls?"

A knock interrupted their conversation, CC peeking her head inside.

Izzy's heart skipped a beat as she realized her friend was standing there. "Oh, hey, CC," she greeted, her voice slightly breathless.

CC smiled warmly at the trio, her eyes lingering on Izzy for a moment longer before she spoke. "Breakfast is ready," she announced. "I helped Emilia make it. Well, actually, I kind of just watched as she made it," she admitted sheepishly.

Izzy couldn't help but smile at CC's admission, feeling a surge of affection for her friend. "Well, either way, I'm sure it'll be delicious," she said warmly, rising from the bed to follow CC downstairs, Maya and Olivia trailing behind her.

"Omg. Are you calling her CC now?" Maya whispered in Izzy's ear, her excitement barely contained.

Izzy nudged her playfully. "Shh, be quiet," she whispered back, feeling the blush reach her ears.

As they gathered around the breakfast table, the atmosphere was light and relaxed. CC and Emilia chatted amiably, discussing various topics ranging from school to their favorite TV shows. Olivia and Maya soon found themselves joining in the conversation, getting to know CC and Emilia better. Izzy couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and contentment settle over her. Seeing her friends and her sister getting along so well filled her with a profound sense of happiness, reminding her that she wasn't alone.

As breakfast came to an end, Maya and Olivia reluctantly announced that they had to leave, much to everyone's disappointment. Izzy walked them to the door, exchanging hugs and promises of hanging out again outside of school.

As Izzy closed the door, she caught CC's eye, a sheepish expression crossing her face, "I'm sorry about earlier. Maya and Olivia can get a bit... overenthusiastic sometimes," she apologized with how many questions her two friends were asking CC.

CC smiled, shaking her head. "It's okay, Izzy," she reassured her, reaching out to squeeze Izzy's hand. "I don't mind. I actually had fun talking to them."

Izzy sighed in relief at CC's words. "That's good," she murmured.

As they walked down the sunlit streets, Izzy couldn't help but steal glances at CC, her heart fluttering at the sight of her smiling and laughing. CC's laughter was infectious, filling Izzy with a sense of warmth and happiness that she couldn't quite explain.

They ended up under the shadow of a tree, eating some ice cream. As they chatted and laughed, Izzy felt a sense of ease and comfort wash over her in CC's presence.

Even as they walked back to Izzy's place, she couldn't help but wonder if CC felt the same way she did. She stole glances at CC as they walked, searching for any sign that she might feel the same way. But CC's expression remained unreadable, just having the same look she would give any other friend.

Little did Izzy know, CC was feeling the same way. As they walked side by side, CC couldn't help but feel a sense of longing stirring within her, a desire to be closer to Izzy in every possible way. She stole glances at Izzy when she wasn't looking, her heart skipping a beat every time their eyes met.

But like Izzy, CC was unsure if Izzy felt the same way she did. She hesitated to voice her feelings, afraid of risking their friendship if Izzy didn't feel the same way. So she kept her feelings to herself, hoping and praying that one day, Izzy would see her in the same way she saw her.

And as they reached Izzy's house and said their goodbyes, neither of them realized just how deeply they had fallen for each other. But one thing was for certain, their bond was stronger than ever, and nothing could come between them.
