The pulsating beat of music filled the air as Izzy stepped into the crowded living room, the warmth of the house party surrounding her – she almost regretted taking her leather jacket. She scanned the room, her eyes quickly landing on her friends Olivia and Maya who were already deep in conversation near the makeshift bar that Nathan – the party host – made to keep all the sodas and liquor there.

"Hey, guys!" Izzy called out, making her way over to them. Maya turned with a grin, a plastic cup in hand, while Olivia waved enthusiastically.

"Look who finally decided to show up!" Olivia exclaimed, her voice barely audible over the music. Maya nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Izzy laughed. Maybe it wasn't so bad going out to parties. Especially if it made her friends happy. "Wouldn't miss it for the world." she replied half-jokingly, a smile spreading across her face as she joined her friends. Maya grabbed a red solo cup, pouring her friend a drink.

They talked and danced, Izzy mostly just moving to the beat of the music unlike her friends. But nonetheless she got more comfortable by the minute.

Her eyes moved around the crowd, eyes widening at the familiar blonde hair with what Izzy thought was god awful brown roots, that somehow looked so good on her.

Izzy inwardly groaned. It seemed like no matter where she turned, CC was always there, lurking in the background.

"I'll be back." She told Maya as she placed her cup down with her, making her way into the dining room where CC had just gone into.

As Izzy made her way into the dining room, she couldn't shake the feeling of annoyance that accompanied CC's presence. It's like the closer she got, the more her annoyance increased.

Entering the room, Izzy found CC standing near the table, snacks accompanying it. Izzy hesitated for a moment, before ultimately tapping her on the shoulder. "I swear everywhere I go, you just happen to be here," She remarked with a hint of sarcasm. It wasn't like they lived in a small town where running into someone was common.

CC rolled her eyes, hiding her worry about the instagram incident earlier. "Could say the same to you. You following me now?"

Izzy let out a laugh, shaking her head at the accusation. "You're the one stalking my account."

CC gave a tight lipped smile. She really had walked in on that one. "That– that was just an accident," she stammered, shifting uncomfortably. She was thankful the dim lit room hid her growing blush.

Izzy's eyebrow arched in a skeptical manner as she pressed further. "So you just happen to accidentally go into my account and accidentally scroll on my pictures." She questioned, her tone carrying a hint of accusation. "Accidents seem to follow you around a lot, don't they?" she remarked dryly. "You want my autograph too, stalker. Maybe you'll become my number one fan." She couldn't help but tease her.

CC's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, wanting nothing more than to wipe that smirk off Izzy's face. "Look, it was a mistake, okay?" She muttered, her tone defensive. "Never in a million years would I become a fan." She added with a gag.

Izzy couldn't suppress a laugh at CC's response, finding amusement in her exaggerated disgust. "Oh, come on, Walker." She teased, her tone playful. "You know you secretly admire my skills on and off the field."

CC rolled her eyes. "Keep dreaming, Bronson," she retorted. "I'll stick to rooting for anyone but you."

"Sure, sure." Izzy replied casually. She started to make her way out, shouting over the music. "Try not to accidentally stalk any more of my accounts, alright?"

As Izzy disappeared into the crowd, CC couldn't help but shake her head, joining back with Ava. "God, that was so embarrassing." She groaned. "Seriously I probably gave her an ego boost she doesn't need."

Ava chuckled sympathetically, patting CC on the shoulder. "Hey, don't worry about it." She reassured her. "She'll probably forget about this tomorrow. Besides, it was kind of funny watching you squirm." Ava grinned teasingly, nudging CC playfully. "But seriously, it's no big deal. Just try and enjoy the party."

As the night wore on, the party atmosphere grew livelier. CC found herself enjoying the music and laughter, letting loose and dancing with Ava and some other friends. However, her moment of carefreeness was interrupted when she felt someone bump into her from behind quite hard.

Turning around with irritation in her expression, she noticed Izzy.

CC was ready to give her a piece of her mind. Why is it always Izzy??

"Hey, watch where you're going," CC began, her tone sharp, but it softened as she noticed Izzy's state. She looked unsteady on her feet, her words slurred as she tried to apologize for bumping into CC. "Are you okay?" She asked, reaching out to steady Izzy, who seemed on the verge of stumbling.

If Izzy had to admit, she hadn't even wanted to get this drunk. She had no idea how this happened.

Izzy blinked, her gaze unfocused as she tried to focus on CC's face. "Yeah, m' fine," she mumbled, her words slightly slurred. "Just... just a bit dizzy, that's all."

CC couldn't help but feel a twinge of worry at Izzy's condition despite their ongoing dislike towards each other. "Do you need help getting somewhere?" She asked, her voice softer now, concern evident in her tone.

Izzy shook her head, though her movements were sluggish. "No, no, I'm good," she insisted, but her words lacked conviction. "Just need some fresh air, that's all," the taller girl started to walk again, only to almost fall if it wasn't for CC catching her.

CC was torn between her dislike for Izzy and her concern for her well being. But deep down she knew she couldn't just leave her like this. "Did you drive here?"

Izzy muttered some words too quietly over the music, but ultimately nodded. CC sighed. She definitely had to do something. One wrong move and Izzy could possibly be driving drunk. "What about your friends? Are they drunk?" CC leaned in closer so she could hear her this time, the ends of Izzy's short dark hair tickling her cheek.

The drunk girl shook her head. "Only...only Maya. Liv's the driver." She muttered. CC sighed in relief knowing Izzy's friends would be fine. She was sure Liv and Maya would want to be here longer, Liv still dancing along to the music with Maya, but Izzy seemed out of it. CC grew concerned. Maybe she should take her back home?
