Lilly

THE SHED - CHAPTER 4

Lilly could already see him waiting at the bottom of the stairs from where she exited the classroom, he hadn't caught sight of her yet as he was looking in a different direction. Lilly sighed with anxiousness as she strolled slowly to the bottom of the stairs to find Roman now leaning on the rail of the stairs with a cigarette between his plump pink lips. "Mind if I go smoke this first?" he said as Lilly approached him. Nodding her head, she walked beside him as they walked outside and across the playground and then Roman took a right behind the building and then bent under some barbed wire fence that had already had a hole in it.

Lilly for some reason continued to follow him as they reached some sort of hut that was intertwined with some branches from an old tree. It had seemed to be some abandoned shed that the school used to use back in the day. You could tell it was used as a secrete smoke spot as there was old remains of burnt-out cigarettes scattered on the ground. The shed was a dark brown colour with broken glass from the window, also on the floor in the corner of the shed along with an empty can of monster. On the celling of the shed was multiple cobwebs that looked as if they had been there for some time with one spider sitting in the right corner. It was one of those spiders that seemed never really to move unless it was disturbed. But one that was horrible to look at. On the left side of the shed was an old, abandoned bike that was rusty, and it was missing the front wheel it wasn't even possible to make out what colour it used to be as the paint had faded so much. There was also a log that was used that seemed to be used as a seat.

Lilly sat down on the log and looked at Roman. "Why have you brought me here?" asked Lilly with great confusion. "I brought you no where "said Roman as he began to light his cigarette. "You just followed me" said Roman with annoyance as he tapped the ash from his cigarette onto the floor. Lilly said nothing and just looked at his green eyes. "I had to come here because we aren't allowed to smoke on school grounds." Explained Roman. Lilly looked at Roman as he took another drag of his cigarette "You smoke "as he held the packet offering her a cigarette. "No "said Lilly with disappointment. She stood up, as she did not want to be in the shed, she wanted to be in the library using the photocopier and studying, not in the shed. Roman took another puff of his cigarette to see the disappointment on Lillys face and he then dropped it on the floor and stamped on it to put it out in a huff. "I'm sorry "said Lilly as she began to walk away. But she was stopped suddenly as Roman reached for her arm and pulled her into his chest as he leaned her against the wooden wall within the shed. Lilly tried to speak as Roman placed his finger on her lips. He drew her closer to his chest hugging her and he whispered into her ear "I'm sorry too". As a tear emerged from Lillys cheek he used his finger to wipe away the tears from her face and he began stroking her brown hair as well as taking in the strawberry scent of Lillys hair. "What are you doing" gasped Lilly as she was still held into Roman's chest by one of his arms. Roman stopped stroking her hair and placed his other hand back around Lilly's waist and drew her in close again to his chest. "You're so beautiful" he said in a quiet voice. Lilly could hear his heart beating inside his warm chest.

Lilly had no idea how to feel but she couldn't escape Romans clutches because for the first time in a long time she felt something she never felt before.

Roman and Lilly were still leant against the wall of the shed when he leaned in to kiss her softly and then bringing his arm up towards her breast. "No!" gasped Lilly "why?" said Roman as his hand still remained under her shirt "Please stop"begged Lilly politely.

Roman stepped away and sat down on the log that Lilly was previously sitting on. He took the packet of cigarettes out of his pocket and took one out of the packet and placed it between his lips and ignited it with a yellow lighter. "My apologies "Roman said as he took a pull of his cigarette. Lilly could see the smoke blowing up into the air and out the window as she lent against the shed thinking to herself "What the fuck just happened." She continued to watch Roman as he continued his cigarette. He was wearing brown sweater and black trousers. Lilly thought to herself. "He is kind of cute."

A few moments later Lilly looked at her phone and was shocked. "Roman we're late for our next class." Said Lilly with great worry. Roman sighed and put out the cigarette by rubbing it against the broken glass that remained on the window and dropped it in the corner of the shed where the broken glass sat. "Come on" he said as he reached for Lilly's hand. They both then started walking away from the shed and back to the school grounds for the next lesson.

Roman and Lilly were in the same class so Roman guided Lilly to the classroom still holding hands as they walked down the corridor Lilly could see all the lockers on each side of the corridor. Some had names on some had stickers on and some had nothing on them at all. Next to the last set of lockers was a poster saying "Cheer Try outs" Lilly stopped walking and Roman then look at her. "Are you ok? I didn't hurt you, did I?" Lilly took her eyes off the poster and noticed that Roman was looking at her with great concern. "Yes, I'm fine and no you didn't, It was just a bit of a shock" as Lilly assured Roman by giving him a hug. "Then what is it?" Lilly pointed at the poster "Oh I see" you missed them they were yesterday, but I know one of the girls on the team if you want me to talk to her for you." Lilly smiled with delight as the two started to approach the classroom. Roman let go off Lilly's hand as he tapped the door.
