THE EMPTY CHAIR CHAPTER 2

As Lilly exited the bus there it was again the red convertible, she had spent five minutes admiring before she almost missed the bus. She had the terrible thought of "oh great I live opposite a teacher" when she remembered that in America you can also drive at sixteen. She looked at her reflection in the car to make sure that her hair was tidy as she spent a lot of her time getting ready looking for matching socks.

As Lilly entered the school grounds her heart sunk. She took off her backpack and unzipped it to find her timetable which was in a Polly wallet to reveal that her first class was science with Mr Brown in room 205. Her anxiety grew as everyone else seemed to know where they were going and not one person stopped to help her. Finally, ten minutes later she approached a door that said 205. A male deep voice could be heard. Lillys hand shock as she hesitated to knock the door with the realisation that she was late for her first class. KNOCK KNOCK! Come in a voice said. Lilly slowly opened the door expecting the worse, but Mr Brown wasn't mad at all "Ah there you are, everyone this is our new student, Lilly Rose? The class didn't respond but just stared with curiosity. Lilly replied "Sorry I'm late sir I couldn't find the classroom when I arrived" Mr Brown seemed to just end the conversation by turning to the white board to continue what he was doing. "Find a seat!" He said as his board pen made that horrible squeaking noise.

For some reason picking a seat wasn't easy there was only two seats left which were at each side of the room one was next to a boy called Kevin who at the time appeared to be scratching his noise and the other vacant seat was beside a guy with brown hair and green eyes he was looking up and down at his note pad writing notes of what Mr Brown was displaying on the board. Lilly sat down and took a breath and muttered silently "Hi ". The boy said nothing as Lilly reached for her note pad in her backpack and took out her stary pencil case. The voice beside her spoke as she quickly began writing. "You may as well forget doing that now the bell is about to ring for next lesson, well go together at break and use the photocopier in the library so you can use my notes." Lilly looked at him and smiled "Thankyou". His eyes remained on his note pad as he began to finish the last sentence that Mr Brown had written down on the board and he placed his pen between his lips like he was gathering his thoughts. Mr Brown began talking again "Next week I want you to deliver a presentation on this topic in pairs". Lilly gazed down at her notepad she looked at the date which she underlined with a ruler and at the top of the page was the beginning of the sentence. The guy's hand reached for hers and I gazed up at him. "I'm Roman by the way, do you want to be partners for this project?" Lilly sat back on her chair and looked back at him as he seemed to be awaiting a response "Yeah sure" Lilly replied.  At that moment the bell rang, and it was time for the next lesson which Lilly remembered from her timetable being Maths. People started packing away their stuff including Roman, and people started exiting the room as Lilly started to put away her belongings. The timetable slipped out of Lilly's note pad and slod on to Romans side of the table. His fingers and his eyes examined it as his focus was now on Lilly. "Hmm Room 507, that's just across the hall" said Roman as he placed the timetable in Lillys hands. Lilly and Roman walked to exit the classroom.  Approaching the classroom opposite Lilly noticed that Roman was no longer stood beside her.
