ENGRAVING ON THE DOOR CHAPTER 6

Lilly entered the room and instantly noticed the boy in the corridor that also shared the same art class as her. "Lilly, so good to see you." A voice spoke from behind her. It was her teacher Mrs Sheldon. "We are doing free painting and drawing today so you can work on anything you like. Have a look around for inspiration, everyone who has not met her yet already this is Lilly" informed her teacher. "Thank you very much," said Lilly. She began walking around the room to admire and look at her peer's work. One girl who was in her cheerleading outfit was in the process of painting some flowers, a boy who never spoke was drawing a tiger and Victoria was drawing a ballet dancer and next to her was the boy she saw in the corridor, Peter, who was in the process of painting his picture of wolves. "Wow" gasped Lilly as she admired his picture. "Thankyou" said Peter. "Ha werewolf boy" gasped Victoria who was sat beside him. Peter paid no attention to her as he continued to stroke the brush on the paper. "It's really good," said Lilly. Peter looked up at Lilly "Thanks" he said as he continued to paint and did not seem interested in continuing a conversation.

A couple of minutes went by, and Lilly had already picked out a piece of paper and a picture she was planning on drawing. Lilly decided that she wanted to work on a portrait of her sister. Lilly put down her pencil and smiled with joy as she had finished drawing her picture. Peter who was sat behind her smiled and said, "Looks good". Lilly grinned with glee until Victoria approached her and her artwork. "Victoria leaves her alone" said Peter. "What did Roman say?" asked Lilly. Victora smiled and laughed "You think you stand a chance with him". Lilly said nothing as her heart sank for a moment. "Leave her be," said Peter. "Oh, I'm going to now" she said as she was carrying her paint palette and brush then she intentionally walked past Lillys art work stroking the paint brush across it with black paint. "Hey!" cried Lilly. "Opsie sorry didn't see it there doesn't that look better" laughed Victoria as she walked away to wash up her paints. Mrs Sheldon did not appear to notice what had happened as Lilly felt a tear falling down her cheek. She raised her hand, "Mrs Sheldon please can I go to the toilet." Not noticing Lilly was upset, as she let her leave to go to the toilet.

When Lilly eventually found the toilets, she went to the end cubicle put down the lid and sat down and locked the door. Her head sunk into her hands as she let out a cry when she then had to try and suddenly stop as some girls entered the toilets. Lilly lifted her feet and sat in a ball on the toilet so no one would suspect that she was present and not in lesson. The girls began gossiping "Have you heard about the new girl one girl said to the other. The other girl replied, "The one who's been hanging out with the Godfrey boy. "They laughed.

Lilly pinpointed her focus of some of the things that were carved into the back of the door. The usual so and so was here and some years. There were also some love hearts with initials one read R + V was here. It had never occurred to her that these were the initials of Roman and Victoria from a week ago written by Victoria herself. When she had wrote it Roman was furious with her. The girls soon left as the toilets as the next bell for class rang. Luckily, Lilly had her belongings with her as she decided to take them with her when she left. She then left the toilets and headed to her next class.
