BOY IN THE CORRIDOR CHAPTER 5

The door slowly opened as the teacher Mr Hulk stood there with great anger. "What time do you call this" exclaimed Mr Hulk. Lilly shrugs her shoulders as she didn't know what to say. She couldn't exactly say that she was at the old shed making out with Roman now could she.

Roman decided to break the awkward silence in the classroom as the class were in a middle of reading a chapter in the book of Mice of Men. "I was on my way to the library to grab a copy of the book and on my journey back I saw Lilly who wasn't feeling well, and she looked lost so I took her to get some water from the canteen and then I sat with her for a few minutes then I showed her the way back here as she didn't know where to go" he said with confidence. "Is that what happened" said Mr Hulk as he looked at Lilly who was still by the door leaning against the door frame. Lilly nodded. Roman then went to sit down and again there was an empty chair next to him, so she sat beside him again. "Right then, both of you will need to catch up the class have been reading up to chapter ten and we only just started reading it today, so it needs to be read by tomorrow as the lesson is going to be about what we read so far" explained Mr Hulk. Lilly and Roman both sat in silence like the rest of the class and began reading of Mice of Men. By the time Lilly got to chapter two the lunch bell rang and everyone started to leave the classroom. Roman sat on the side of the table waiting whilst Lilly placed her stuff from the lesson into the bag and looked at her with delight.

The two walked out the room to find a guy leaned up against the wall outside of the classroom. He had brown wavey hair and he wore a checkered shirt along with black jeans and brown shoes. The guy seemed to appear to be waiting for Roman as he called out to him. "Roman?" Lilly and Roman paused their steps and looked at this guy whose name appeared to be known as Peter. "What 's up?" Roman asked. Lilly stood in silence as she realised the two seemed to know each other. She stood calmly as the two continued their conversation. "Where were you at break?" Lilly looked at Roman and she reached for his hand but at this time he denied the touch. "Was you with her" demanded Peter. "What business of yours is it, Peter? You haven't spoken to me for months you left me here by myself" Roman said in fury as he turned away from Peter grabbing Lillys hand guiding her towards the canteen. "Are you to friends?" asked Lilly as she grabbed a tray from the rack. "We used to be" said Roman mirroring the same move made as Lilly.

As the two approached the food counter there was a choice of three choices. Either beef, chips and peas, tomato basil pasta or fish fingers and chips. Roman instantly went for the beef and Lilly went for the pasta selection. The two sat together at lunch talking about stuff including about each other's hobbies and interests and then out of curiosity Roman asked Lilly a question. "So where do you live?" Lilly smiled and replied "I live near in a house pretty much near the Godfrey mansion. Roman lent forwards whilst eating the last of his beef. When had he finished chewing, he spoke "Well aren't you lucky?" Lilly sat back on her chair and asked, "Why am I lucky?" Roman lent forwards again and said "I live opposite you" Lilly giggled "You're a Godfrey" she said as she stood up to take her empty tray of food to the tray rack as Roman also followed her and smiled.

Walking to the playground with Roman everyone seemed to keep staring at the two who were now appearing to get on well. Lilly wondered why everyone was staring at them.

By now the two were sat in the playground on a bench. A blonde girl called Victora and two other girls approached Roman, Victora said, "What are you doing sat with her Roman". His blood began to boil as it was clear that she was after something, judging from the other day when he followed her into the bathroom the once and they did the deed. So, it wasn't the first time he appeared to be messing around with girls in the school, the other week he also paid a girl to pleasure him whilst he was in his car before school started that day.

Before Roman had the opportunity to speak, Lilly in anger stood up and yelled "Her! Has a name!" Victoria then gazed at Lilly "I wasn't talking to you bitch" as she pushed her back down on the bench. "Get your hands off her" Roman said with aggression. "You should be careful of him" advised Victoria to Lilly. "If you come near us again, you'll regret it!" warned Roman. Victoria then began to walk away sobbing but that was no concern for Roman as he was beginning to feel something he hadn't felt for a long time. "Who was that?" asked Lilly with worry. "Victora" said Roman. "She's bad news" he explained.

Roman stood up and grabbed a cigarette from his pocket and placed it behind his ear. "Two choices, either we go to the shed whilst I smoke this, and then you can come to mine after school to copy my notes OR, I'll show you where the library is and I'll give you my notes to photocopy, whilst I go and smoke this? Your choice." Lilly at first didn't know what to say she had been invited to his house after school which meant she'd meet his mother. "Wait the house with the red convertible" Lilly said with a grin. Roman grabbed her hand and replied happily "Yes that's the one so I'm guessing you made your choice then" as the two walking towards the hidden shed once again.

Like before, Roman stood by the broken glass window and Lilly sat on the log that was still in the place where Roman had left it previously. Roman began to light his cigarette with his lighter once again. "The convertible you like?" said Roman. Lilly suddenly remembered seeing it outside the school first thing this morning, realising that the car belonged to him. "Yes, I like the colour, is it your car?" asked Lilly. Roman took a drag of his cigarette and grinned. "Yes, it is my car and if you like I could drive us home." Lilly honestly didn't know how to respond of course she wanted to go with him in his car after school. With some thought Lilly responded "I'd like that very much. "Roman decided to put out his cigarette and he reached for Lillys hands and brought her on to her feet and the two looked at each other in the eyes and both lent in for a kiss. This kiss seemed different from the first one they had earlier on that day to Lilly it felt real and magical. During the kiss they could hear the bell in the distance the two's lips separated. "We should go" said Roman. The two held hands once again and headed back to school. The same afternoon the two discovered that they had no classes together for the remainder of the day. "Meet me at my car at the end of the day." Roman said to Lilly as she entered the classroom of her next class. Roman remained standing in the corridor until the door had closed seemly making sure she got there with no issue.
