PHOTO IN THE POCKET CHAPTER 19

Lilly sat up in bed on Tuesday morning at 7:00 as she then realised that Roman was not lying next to her anymore. She put on Roman's dressing gown as she looked around the house but Roman wasn't anywhere to be seen in the house. Lilly looked outside the window in the front room to see that Roman's car wasn't there either. Lilly took out her phone out of the pocket of Romans dressing gown and rang his office number which he gave her yesterday. The phone continued to ring when he then answered. "Hello Mr Godfrey speaking." Said Roman down the phone. "Roman it's Lilly" she said into her phone. Roman chuckled as he sat in his chair at his desk. "Hey, I'm sorry, I was needed in work, early this morning." explained Roman. "Is everything ok?" asked Lilly. "Absolutely fine babe, please go to school today, I don't want you missing your last three weeks at school" said Roman. Lilly sighed "Do I have to?" asked Lilly. "I'll tell you what, I'll get your ID badge sorted today if you go to school today" said Roman persuading her to go. "Ok, I'll go," said Lilly. "Anyway, babe I need to go now as, I have some work to do but I'll see you later. I love you" said Roman. "I love you to, don't work too hard" laughed Lilly as the couple ended the conversation and ended the phone call.

Lilly luckily had some spare underwear in one of Romans draws. She began to get dressed whilst standing Infront of the mirror in Romans room. She put on one of Romans t-shirts and then she went into his wardrobe and took one of Romans jackets out off a hanger and put it on. It was her favourite one. It was one of the jackets she first met Roman in, it was also the jacket he lent her on their first date at that fancy restaurant. Lilly then looked in the mirror once more as she began to brush her hair and teeth in the bathroom and then she ran down the stairs and put on her shoes and called a taxi.

When Lilly arrived at school, she firstly went to her locker to get out some of her stuff she needed for the first lesson as she closed her locker, she noticed Peter on the other side of her locker door. "How did it go?" asked Peter as Lilly locked her locker. "How did what go?" asked Lilly. "How did it go with Roman?" asked Peter as the two walked to their art class. "It went ok, but he was acting diffrenly at points" replied Lilly "what do you mean?" asked Peter. "He keeps snapping and his behaviour is different" confessed Lilly as they began walking to the classroom. "Lilly did he hurt you?" asked Peter with great concern. "No, he just upset me" explained Lilly as they entered the classroom.

Lilly and Peter sat next to each other as the teacher Mrs Sheldon entered the classroom. "Good morning class, during these last three weeks you can work on whatever you like "informed Mrs Sheldon. Lilly and Peter began to walk around the room collecting art resources. Lilly then went out of the room to use the printer to print off a photograph.

During this time Peter sent a text on his phone to Roman saying "What is going on with you?" he took a breath as he pressed sent. The two previously had had massive argument the night Roman had tried killing himself and ever since then the two never seemed to get along as much as they used to. "Peter, no phones in class" said Mrs Sheldon who had spotted Peter on his phone. "Sorry" he said as he returned to his drawing. He decided to draw an oak tree.

Lilly then came back into the room with a picture she had printed using the printer. Peter saw it was a picture of her and Roman. "Don't tell him" said Lilly as she started to copy the picture. "I won't said Peter" as he continued to draw his tree. Lilly looked at Peter and spoke "It's his Birthday soon and I want to paint him a picture for his birthday" said Lilly as Peter smiled. "He'd absolutely love that," said Peter as he began painting the tree on his paper. Moments later the bell rang hinting breaktime as the art lesson was a double block lesson.

Peter and Lilly went on their separate ways at break. Peter went to the library and for some reason Lilly went to the shed where Roman would usually be smoking but this time he wasn't there. "Oh he's working" remembered Lilly as she flung her self onto to log that was still in the shed. The broken glass was pretty much gone now as the wind must have blown it all away during the bad storm that happened the other night. The number of burnt-out cigarettes on the floor had increased and in the corner of the shed was some more cans of empty drinks. The Monster one was now faded and there had appeared to be one empty can of Coca Cola which was Romans from the other week and there was an empty can of Dr Pepper that she wasn't sure of how it ended up there in the first place. As of the cobwebs, they remained in each corner of the ceiling of the shed and the spider had moved to the other side of the shed. The broken bike remained in the same place untouched, but it was now intertwined with branches from the old tree. Everything felt normal for Lilly apart from the fact that Roman was not there with her.

Lilly went to take out her phone from the pocket in the jacket she wore belonging to Roman to discover something else in the pocket along with her phone. It was the photo she had found previously in a box in the front room, but she only remembered leaving it on the fireplace back at home. "How did it get here in Roman's pocket" she thought to herself as she began to examine the photo as she noticed the dates were identical to her date of birth. "Surely this isn't me" thought Lilly as she placed it back into the Pocket. She then picked up her phone and then decided to ring Roman like she was planning to before she got distracted by the photograph. Lilly called "Roman's office number" as it seemed the best way to reach him whilst he was sat at his desk but there was no response. Lilly then tried ringing Roman's mobile phone but there still was no answer. "I hope he's alright" thought Lilly as she heard the bell and headed to her next lesson.
