20) Evolution

Mirabel POV

''So it is really happening?'' I sigh out loud, looking at my beloved, who only respond with a sigh and a sad nod as we spending some time together outside of the Monastery by the cherry blossom tree. I slowly lean myself on to his shoulder, savoring the small time we have together.

''It was meant to happen. We knew, but... I really don't want to.'' Mumble Cole out loud. We then turn to silence and watch some of the cherry blossom petals wall off and flow with the wind to who knows where. We just enjoy the silence now.

''MIRABEL.'' And that silence is now gone thanks to Arin. Me and Cole both looks up towards the gate of the Monastery, utterly confused why Arin would yell my name like that. He can be a little over dramatic, so should I take his bell out seriously?

''Maybe we should see what is wrong.'' Suggest Cole with a small nervous chuckle, sadly have to end our time together.

''Yeah, let's do that.'' I sigh out in respond and get up on my feet. Together Cole and I get back up to the Monastery to see what Arin is fussing about. The courtyard is weirdly enough, empty.

''Hey, guys. What was that yell about?'' Call out Cole to see if any of the team is nearby. The slide door to the left, beside the portrait of Sensei Wu, opens up to show a worried Arin and concerned Sora right beside him.

''Mirabel, thank the First Spinjitzu Master you are here. We need your help. NOW.'' Thank Arin urgent and run over to grab my hand to pull me with him back into the Monastery and towards the living room. He pull us all the way to elevator and brought us down to the dragon stall for some reason.

''What is happening, Arin. Please give me something to work with.'' I kindly ask him, but do have a hint of annoyance in my voice.

''Riyu is sick. Like, really sick.'' Answer Arin really scared, tapping his feet with anxiety. I take a glance at Cole before I start to think about some small details.

''Arin, I admire you take such good care of Riyu, but remember, you haven't had a dragon before. Whatever is happening to Riyu, might actually be harmless.'' I try to reason with him, being as calm as I can.

''Maybe take a closer look.'' Suggest Sora this time, just when the elevator door opens and let us enter the dragon stalls. And laying in the middle of it, with the rest of the team watching, is little Riyu. He is flinching and shaking like crazy, like he is having a seizure. I tilt my head confused and walk over to the dragon, watching his body language. 

''Zane?'' I speak up and keep watching the dragon, while the Nindroid give me some information he has collected.

''It is quite unusual. High fever and seizure. I haven't exactly seen that before.'' Admit Zane with an answer I didn't expect. I kneel down to check up on Riyu, lightly touching his scales. His temperature is really high, like he is burning on fire.

''Arin instantly starts to yell out for you.'' Inform Kai from the side, rubbing his ear in pain. Seems like Arin was standing beside him or was in the same room, when he yelled out to me. 

''I-I was just worried for Riyu.'' Defend Arin nervously.

''Worried is not exactly the word here.'' Commend Nya with a side smirk and glance at Arin, who blush in embarrassment.

''The correct terms would be distraught, frightened, trembling, antsy, spooked-'' Correct Zane with zero compassion to Arin and just keeps coming with words to describe Arin's current emotions concerning Riyu.

''We get it.'' Interfered Lloyd to spare the boy, giving Zane a side eye, but still smirked a little.

''I really don't understand why you are so scared.'' Speak up Wyldfyre beside Heatwave at his stall.
