Chapter 4: Late Afternoon

Sonic plays video games in his room, "Man I forgot how hard this level is." he stops for a moment, "Ow!" expressing his pain putting his hand on his mouth. He runs to the bathroom to open his mouth and sees how sharp his teeth are, "How did those get there? That's never been there before." backing up starting to get scared until he hears a knock on the door startling him, "I'll be out in a minute." frightened Sonic looks at his eyes his pupils turning dark green, "That's not possible." he whispers. He hears another knock at the door, "Sonic it's Tom you alright?" Sonic looks into the mirror to see that his are back to normal, "Wait my eyes are back to normal? I need to tell Tails and Knuckles right away." he quickly opens the door to see his dad standing there, "Hey bud you've been in there for more than 20 minutes is everything okay?" Sonic gets nervous, "Yeah everything's alright I'm gonna go see if Tails and Knuckles need help." Sonic runs off as his father finds his attitude suspicious, "That's weird he never acts like that I wonder what's been going on." he walks away pretending like nothing happened. Maddie goes upstairs, "There you are Tom I was looking for you Rachel called and she is able to show up a day early so she will arrive tonight. Are the boys rooms clean?" Tom tells Maddie, "Yeah the boys' rooms are clean I'm starting to think something is off with Sonic he never runs off as quickly as he did. Plus he looked nervous I'm not sure why." Maddie cheers him up, "He's probably doing other things right now he will come around. I'm going to get some of upstairs clean before my sister arrives." Back in Knuckles room, Sonic sits in his chair explaining what happened in the bathroom, "Knuckles my eyes turned a dark green which had never happened I'm staring to feel pain in my mouth due to sharp teeth." Knuckles starts to worry, "Oh no your starting to notice changes? This isn't good we need to tell Tom and Maddie everything." Sonic stops him, "We can't! They won't understand and will fear me." Tails chimes in, "None of them will fear you they are our parents and would do anything for us especially looking for a cure for your condition." Sonic rebuttals with rage in his voice, "Why tell them? I'm already a monster that doesn't deserve to be redeemed. That things made me like this permanently and there's no way to reverse it face it guys get use to it." Tom knocks on the door to see his sons standing in front of him, "Okay guys so I just found out from Maddie that Rachel, her husband, and daughter are coming tonight everything need to be clean." the three boys look at their dad in unison, "Yes father." Tom leaves the room, "We need to get you out of the house before anyone else notices something off." Sonic nods his head, "Deal." Around five o clock, Maddie hears a knock at the door and sees her sister, husband, and her daughter with their belongings in their hands. The three boys sit there impatiently, "Okay guys so the moon doesn't rise until an hour to an hour and a half from now any ideas on how to get Sonic out of here before something happens?" Knuckles thinks of an idea, "We could sneak out the back door but we need to say hello to them first before we can do that." Sonic starts to get anxious, "We have to go guys come on!" he whispers. The three of them sneak out and help Sonic get to the woods. Jojo looks at the couch noticing Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles missing, "Aunt Maddie where did they go?" Everyone turns around to notice, "Oh my gosh Tom they left without even saying hello we are going to have a talk with them." Rachel drops her things, "Randall stay with Jojo I'm going with my sister to look for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles." Randall agrees and stays at the house while the others look for Tom and Maddie's kids.
