Chapter 6: Searching For Sonic

Tom walks in the woods to find Sonic yelling out his name, "Sonic!!!! Where are you?!?! It's your dad I'm here to bring you home!" Tom keeps walking until he sees a creature with dark green eyes lurking in the dark, "I mean no harm." it stares at Tom as it jumps on him aggressively, "Get off!" he fights his way struggling to break free from the monster. It stared at Tom looking into his eyes, "Sonic?" Sonic lifts his hand preparing to scratch his father. Dr. Eggman and Agent Stone are in their secret headquarters spying through a camera like robot bird in the trees, "So Sonic is a distraction? It's genius soon  we'll take over Green Hills. At this rate without Sonic getting in our way the town will be ours." Agent Stone looks at the screen, "Doctor what's that?" Dr. Eggman looks back, "Wait where's the blue hedgehog? Well I wouldn't call him that since he's a beast." Eggman gets irritated but gets an idea, "We won't take over for now Agent Stone we are going to find that thing!" Back in the woods, Tom is waiting for Sonic to scratch him until something jumps on his son punching him across hitting the trees. Tom looks in shock noticing the thing that saved him has the same appearance as his son, "Thank you." the creature looks back with it's red eyes staring at him until Sonic gets back up and punches it across the face, "No Sonic!!" He looks at his dad with anger in his eyes as Tom starts to run back to the house. The creature chases Sonic to prevent Tom from getting hurt, "I wonder who that was?" At the house, Maddie couldn't wrap her head around what Knuckles told her and her sister, "Shadow? The person who fought my son in the city is a werewolf how is that possible?" Tails responds, "We don't know we think Eggman is involved." Maddie gets her flashlight, "I'm going to find Tom boys stay with your aunt." as she is about to walk out of the door, Tom opens the door running inside quickly. He breathes heavily, "Tom? I'm so glad you're okay where's Sonic?" waiting a response from her husband. Shadow leads Sonic into the Wackoski's backyard waiting for him to attack. Sonic grabs Shadow extending his arms to throw him across hitting the shed breaking the door. Everyone listens from inside, "I'm going to go out there." Tails disagrees, "Knuckles he will hurt you he's not fully there." Knuckles hears Tails voice breaking, "I know but you guys need to understand that Sonic might not be in there anymore and Shadow needs help." Knuckles opens the door to go outside. He sees Shadow, "It's me Shadow I know you have control of yourself but not Sonic and I need your help to get him back." Tails goes to the fridge to grab some porks, "He might like this it's a good distraction." he says to himself, "Tails why did you grab those?" Jojo asks worried about Sonic, "I want Sonic back maybe some treats will get his attention." Tails walks out of the house with no fear in his eyes. He sees Sonic as he holds out a pork in his hand throwing it in the air for him to catch with his mouth, "I know your hungry and I wanted to give you food so you can eat." Sonic stares at Tails dashing towards him to grab and eat the rest of the porks he had in his hand, "Well now we know Sonic likes meat which makes sense since he likes chili dogs." Shadow punches Sonic across the face landing on the ground face first, "Good job Shadow." giving him a fist bump irritating Tails, "I just got him to calm down and this is what you do? Now he's gonna be angry." Knuckles hugs Tails, "I did this just to protect you we will get Sonic back I promise." Sonic gets up and sees his vision is blurry, "Sorry Sonic you need to rest." He tries walking towards Tails until he falls to the ground falling asleep. Tom sees everything from his window and goes outside to carry Sonic back in, "I got you son just rest." Rachel sees Sonic processing his new transformation, "Oh my god Sonic I wish you told us sooner." hugging Randall as her daughter hugs her while crying. Tom makes it upstairs to tuck Sonic in and walks downstairs, "Boys you will be sleeping with Maddie and I for the night grab your stuff quietly and we will make your beds. The others will take the guest rooms that are in the house and Ozzy will sleep with us." Tom and Maddie set up the air bed for the boys to sleep on while Tails takes a shower as Knuckles helps them, "Knuckles thank you for helping me and Shadow back there. I forgot to mention I put Shadow in the living room in case Sonic loses control again." Knuckles gets his things while listening to his father, "Of course father I would do anything for you guys." He heads to the bathroom while Tails lays on the bed starting to feel sleepy, "Time for some sleep." he tells himself. Ozzy jumps on the bed comforting him. "I miss Sonic Ozzy." he says crying while his mom and dad are listening, "It's okay buddy tomorrow is a new day he will be back to normal I promise." Tom tucks him in as he and Maddie give him a goodnight kiss. Knuckles gets into bed, "Goodnight mom and dad I will stay with the fox so he has company." The two smile turning the lights off walking out of the room quietly to get cleaned up and put on their pajamas so they can go to sleep. Maddie heads to the attic to check up on Sonic and sees him fast asleep quietly walking back down, "He's asleep." she whispers as they sneak back to the room to sleep in the rest of the night. Dr. Eggman was pleased, "Well now we know what to expect with Sonic's new look ain't that right Agent Stone? Now that we have everything recorded and know what we are up against let's start gathering the drones." Agent Stone smiles at his boss, "Yes doctor." The doctor stands there giving an evil smirk, "Time to take down that hedgehog once and for all."
