Chapter 13: Rescuing Tom

Around four in the afternoon, the gang are waiting outside of Robotnik's base located in Green Hills deep in the woods, "Okay we're here everyone remember their roles and what you guys need to do?" all of them nod their heads in agreement, "Remember Sonic don't lose control unless you have to." Shadow advises him to do before getting out of the car, "Alright." Sonic exits out of the car looking at the security cameras that are above him. He gives off a smirk running deep into the woods as the robots go after him, "Get him you fools!" Eggman says harshly to his robots. Knuckles, Tails, and Shadow exit out of the car quietly and run inside Robotnik's base, "Okay we made it past the first part." Shadow says as he starts to have flashbacks to where his head begins hurting, "Are you okay Shadow?" Knuckles asks as Tails adds, "You can go back in the car and we will rescue Tom just me and Knuckles it's no big deal." Shadow refuses to go back, "No I'm going with you both I know this place like the back of my hand. Tom should be a couple of rooms down and we need to hurry before the moon rises." Tails begins to look through the left side of the room as Knuckles looks to the right of the room along with Shadow. Outside in the woods, Sonic is being chased by Robotnik's robots and stops to for a moment to see that he isn't being chased, "I think I lost them. I hope they find Donutlord before the moon rises." The robots catch up to Sonic as he looks up at the robots' eyes, "Look Eggman you got me just let Tom go and call it a day." The doctor hears his response laughing evilly, "That's too easy hedgehog! I'll let the sheriff go on one condition you turn yourself in." Sonic gives him a bitter look, "Or what?" Eggman continues, "Tom will be the first to go and he knows about how to cure you and Shadow. If you both want it you have to do exactly as I say." Sonic agrees, "Deal what do I have to do?" Shadow rings Sonic, "Hello?" he says answering his com, "Sonic don't! Tom isn't here I knew it would be a trap this is my fault! I'm going with you just stay there the others will regroup with Maddie and will think of something." Sonic freezes, "Sonic are you there?" Sonic hangs up on Shadow taking Robotnik's offer and goes back to his hideout to see Tom. Making it back after a quick run, Sonic sees Tom tied up, "Dad what did they do to you?" He asks seeing how hurt he is, "I could've been worse. The thing is Sonic I went to Robotnik to see if he can cure you and Shadow." Sonic asks, "And is there a cure?" waiting for an answer as his father nods his head no leaving him angry and disappointed, "I wouldn't do that if I were you hedgehog the sun is about to set in the next couple of minutes and your not going to be able to control yourself like you did the other night. Poor you not being able to be back to normal after everything you went through as well as shadow and to find out there's no cure? You must feel like you wasted your time." Sonic is about to walk up to Eggman to confront him until he begins turning. In the halls, Shadow hears Sonic's screams about to help him until he starts to turn, "Oh no!" Shadow exclaims as Knuckles and Tails watch in fear. The doctor orders Agent Stone, "Since he is done transforming." He says witnessing Sonic turn into a werewolf not mortified in the least bit, "Take the shot Stone." Agent Stone puts mind controlling serum inside Sonic's bloodstream. Sonic opens his eyes and sees Tom standing there tied up, "Get him Sonic!" Sonic begins charging towards Tom until Shadow jumps into save him, "What did you do to him?!" Tom yells out to the doctor, "What I should've done when him and I first crossed paths." Shadow charges at Sonic as Tails and Knuckles free him without Stone and the doctor spotting them. Tom sees his sons, "We have to get Sonic!" Tails tells him, "We will he is in mind control we will get him back when we get the chance!" Tails and Knuckles make it back to the car, "Tom!" kisses Tom on the cheek, "Where's Sonic?" Knuckles tells his mom, "He is with Eggman under mind control." Shadow jumps on the car as they drive off to make it back home. Sonic runs out and is about to charge until Eggman stops him, "Stop! Let them escape for now. We have you and that's all we need. Sonic the Werehog it has a nice ring to it. Shadow will be our next target sooner or later he will be under our control as well."
