As the next day arrived, Amelia's father took her to William's house.
From the outside, it looked like a grand estate. As the wrought-iron gates creaked open, revealing a sprawling mansion surrounded by immaculate gardens, Amelia's eyes widened in awe as she took in the opulence she had only seen in movies.
The gravel crunched beneath Amelia's worn-out shoes as she stepped onto the pristine driveway. The mansion gleamed in the sunlight, adorned with intricate details that spoke of wealth and privilege. She couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and insecurity as she realized how rich that man, William, is.
What's wrong with you, Amelia?
It's nothing, dad. Why are you making this sad face?
I told you to be happy. Just look at this house; it looks so grand from the outside. I just wonder how luxurious it will be from the inside. Rather than being sad, you should be thankful to me that I found such a rich man to be your husband.
As Amelia and Mr. Harrington entered William's house, they were approached by William's secretary, James.
Let me take you to the living room.
Boss is getting ready, so it will take a little bit of time, but before he is back, read this contract paper and sign it.Mr. Harrington hesitated for a bit, but then he shamelessly told James, Why are you giving me this contract to sign? I am just here to take my money. I am not interested in any contract; just give me my money.
James frowned at Mr. Harrington.
If you want money, then sign this contract.Mr. Harrington, who is greedy, didn't even bother to read the contract; as soon as he heard about the money, he signed it immediately.
As Mr. Harrington signed the contract, James placed a check. In front of the table, Mr. Harrington was seated. He didn't even wait for a second, took the check in his hand, and grinned with happiness sinisterly.
Amelia, a mere pawn in this heart-wrenching transaction, felt nothing except helplessness.
As James saw Mr. Harrington grinning happily, he told him, "You got the check, Mr. Harrington. Now I request that you leave."
Before I leave, can I talk to my beloved daughter one last time in private? Okay, I am giving you five minutes to finish your talk. Come out of the room when the time is over. James says that and leaves the room.
"Stop making this annoying sad face, Amelia," said Mr. Harrington.
Because of you, your family is going to live happily without any financial problems. Your younger sister can go to the college she wanted, and as I promised, I will take care of the treatment of your aunt.
You just have to remember one thing: from now on, you belong to Mr. William, so all your focus should be on him. Just do anything you can to make him yours; even if you have to seduce him, just do it because it's not easy to capture the heart of such a rich man, although I think you don't have to work hard because he is already infuriated by your beauty. That's why he gave me this million-dollar check.
"Thud. Thud." Five minutes are over, as James said that Amelia's father got up from the sofa and started walking towards the door as he was leaving the room; he didn't look back once.
As Mr. Harrington came out of the room, James told him, "Never try to make any type of contact with Miss Amelia." You have already signed the contract; if you ever break it, you and the rest of your family will suffer badly.Don't worry, I will never try to make any contact with Amelia; she only belongs to Mr. William.
As Mr. Harrington was about to leave the mansion, James called out the butler and told him to help Mr. Harrington out through the main door.
Hello, Miss Amelia! My name is James, and I am sure you already know about me. This person beside me is the butler of this mansion; if you need anything, just call him.Amelia, in a shivering voice, asked, When can I meet Mr. William?
Suddenly, the door cracked open.
As soon as secretary James and the butler saw William enter the room, they left immediately.
As William started walking towards Amelia, she was feeling a sudden shiver in her body. She stood there as if she had frozen; her gaze remained fixated on the floor when she felt a looming figure gazing at her, causing her to flinch involuntarily.
"Just a few minutes ago, you were asking my secretary about me." I am in front of you now, but rather than looking at me, you are gazing at the floor.
"Look at me," William demanded.
As his tone sent ripples of intimidation through the air, Amelia hesitated for a second, but later she mustered up the courage to meet his gaze.
As her eyes met his, a sudden stillness enveloped the room. His gaze, intense and penetrating, held a captivating allure. Amelia, momentarily forgetting her fear, found herself drawn to the depths of his eyes. They were pools of darkness, yet within them glimmered an inexplicable beauty that seemed to defy the shadows.
"It looks like you can't take your eyes off me."
Could it be that you aren't scared anymore."
As Amelia became red out of embarrassment, a playful spark flickered in William's gaze. Miss Amelia We are going to get married soon, so you don't have to feel embarrassed. You can gaze at my face as much as you want.
