Three months have passed since my bending got taken away from me. I came clean and revealed myself to the public as the missing princess of the Fire Nation, still refusing to go home. I was advised by Tenzin to move to Air Temple Island for my safety and I obliged because it meant I wouldn't have to go into the city as often.

This last month, I have spent most of my time in my bed, staring at my wall, contemplating what I would be doing if I still had my bending. Feeling the emptiness spread throughout my body as if I was being eaten from the inside out.

Bolin asked me to come to the arena to watch the new Fire Ferrets play their game today, but I declined, saying I was too busy with physiotherapy. To be honest, I haven't been to physiotherapy in weeks. It's not like going there will give me my bending back.

"Princess Kazuko," I hear Pema's voice and there are some light knocks on my door. I don't reply, but she comes in anyway, "You didn't eat your lunch. You'll get sick if you don't eat." I hear her place a new tray of food on the side table.

"Hey! Princess!" Ikki's voice rings through the room and I bury my head under my covers, "Do you have a fancy Fire Nation crown hidden somewhere? Can I wear it?" She pulls the covers off my head.

"No." I snap. I take my sheets out of her hands and turn over.

"Ikki," I hear Pema whisper, "Why don't we leave her alone, okay?"

"But why? She's always in here alone! She could use some company."

"She's not well, Ikki," Pema says in a way to not hurt my feelings.

"Not well? She looks fine to me." Ikki blurts out.

"Come along, now," Pema says and I hear the door close. I look over at my side table and see the dinner that has been prepared for me. I sit up slowly and pick up the tray, but my arms are unable to hold the weight and it drops onto the floor, leaving food and pieces of broken plate everywhere. I just stare blankly at the floor.

"Are you okay?" Pema bursts back into the room. She looks down at the tray, "I'll get someone to clean this up. Don't worry, Princess." She rushes back out into the hall.

I lay back down in my bed, curling up underneath the covers.

"I hope your bags are packed!" Bolin slams the door to my room open. I turn over in my bed to look at him, "You're not supposed to be in the girls' dorms."

"This is a special occasion. We're going to the South Pole!"

"I'm not going." I turn back over to face the wall.

"What?" Bolin whines, "I'm only going because I thought you were going."

"That's a lie," I grumble.

"Okay... That's a lie, but I still want you to be there."

"I already told Korra 'no'. My answer is not going to change."

I hear Bolin rummaging around my room and my suitcase is thrown onto my bed, "I'm not taking no for an answer. You've been a sad sack for three months. It's time for you to have some fun again!" The suitcase is lifted off of my bed and when I think he is going to leave, the covers are ripped off of my body and Bolin grabs me and throws me over his shoulder.

"What are you doing!?" I hit his back, "Put me down!"

"Nope." He holds me on his shoulder with one arm and picks up my suitcase with the other, "I will not let you waste away any longer!"
