"Morning." I chime blandly as I enter Tenzin's dining area.
"Nice of you to finally show up." Mako spits.
I furrow my brows and look at him, "What's with your sour mood? Did someone pis-"
Tenzin clears his throat and I shut my mouth, shaking my head and raising my arms in peace, "Don't get mad at me. Mako's the one who's snapping at me this early in the morning."
"You left us yesterday." He states. I scoff, "That's what you're mad about? I'll remind you as it seems you've forgotten." I pour myself a cup of tea, "I'm not here to help you save Korra every time she goes missing." I turn to the Avatar who has returned home, "No offence, Korra." She shrugs it off, "I'm here to stop Amon. So don't get mad at me for something I never promised to do." I sip my tea as Mako just continues to frown.
"Mmm. Mmm. The food tastes amazing, Pema. I'm finally starting to feel like myself again." Korra distracts from the tension between me and Mako.
"We're so thankful you're home safe." Pema stands to take Korra's plates.
"Let me help." Asami stands to assist Pema.
"Korra, I realize you've been through a lot, but I need to know everything that happened." Tenzin says as Pema and Asami clear away the dishes.
Korra proceeds to explain everything she learned while she was kidnapped. Saying several names I don't know.
"This is very disturbing news. Amon is becoming emboldened. Taking out a councilman, almost capturing the Avatar... I fear Amon is entering his endgame." Tenzin frowns.
I take another sip of my tea as Mako stands up with the teapot and heads to the kitchen.
"Did you really mean what you said?" Bolin leans over to me and says.
"What? About being here to take down Amon? Yeah. That's all I'm here for. I'll be gone when he's gone." I state matter-of-factly.
He fiddles with his hands, "I thought we were starting to get along. You can't just leave."
"Why not?" I sip my tea, "Besides... We aren't getting along. We barely talk."
"We could change that." He suggests.
"No." I retort.
"Why not?" He pouts, "I think if you were to actually talk with me, you would find that we have a lot in common."
"Do we?" I cock a brow.
"Yeah, like... You're a firebender and... My brother is a firebender! So we have that in common."
"No. We don't 'have that in common.' Mako and I have our bending abilities in common. You have nothing to do with that."
"Well... We also both still like Narook's Seaweed Noodlery!"
"I don't really go there now that I'm not with the Wolfbats anymore."
"You're not with the Wolfbats?"
"Seeing how two of the three members can't bend. There really is no such thing as the Wolfbats anymore."
"That's too bad. I really would have liked to spar against you guys again." He points a finger in my face, "In a fair match."
"Don't look at me." I push his hand away, "I was playing fair. I had no idea that Tahno and Ming had paid off the ref."
"So they just went behind your back like that?"
