My eyes scan this person. It's not like looking in a mirror, it's more like looking in through a window to the past.

"I said put it down." She orders.

I stand still for a moment, but I do as she says and place the flame back down into the darkness.

"Good." She smirks and walks over the flame. I move in front of it, "Wait! What do you want with it?"

"That doesn't concern you." She sneers.

"Seeing as you are me, I would say it does concern me."

"I'm not you." She says and her body morphs into a taller, larger figure. Amon.

"You don't scare me."

"Really," He paces in front of me, "I think you're a liar."

"I'm not." I stand firm.

"Don't make this harder than it needs to be." He extends his hand out to me, "Give me the flame."

"No."

His face changes again and my stomach drops when I see who he has become, "Hand over the flame, Kazuko!"

"No, Mother."

"You're always like this. Thinking that you are above everyone else." She scolds.

"And I wonder who made me like that?."

"You're not special, Kazuko. You had strength in bending but that all seems to be gone now. You can't hurt anyone anymore."

"Shut up!" I clamp my hands over my ears and squeeze my eyes shut, "You can't do this to me! You're not real!"

"But I am. Because I am you." My voice speaks again, but not from my mouth.

I open my eyes and make contact with the same golden ones across from me, "You are not me."

"Well, that's rude." The other version of me scoffs.

"If you are me. What part of me are you?" I lean closer to her to get a better look.

She leans to the side and points behind me, "The part of you that needs that."

"My bending..." I mumble to myself, looking over my shoulder at the flame, "That thing is my bending."

"You could call it that," She mocks, "Think of it more like your attachment to bending. The force that compels you to keep living every day." She smirks, "It's just too bad that flame will never grow again. Might as well die."

"How come I'm not like Lin and Korra who could get their bending back?" I ball my fists.

"You think I know?" She hisses, "I'm not an encyclopedia."

"So what would happen if I put out the flame?" I ask.

"Don't do that!" She yells.

"Why not?"

"Because!"

"Because what?" I cock a brow, "What will happen to you if I put out that flame?"

"Don't do it!" Her face contorts into one of pure rage.

When I turn around the flame is not where I had put it. It seems to have moved on its own and now it is several metres away.

I look over my shoulder at myself, she shrieks and starts to run at me. I start sprinting in the direction of the flame. When I'm within a few feet of it, I leap into the air. I extend my hands out in front of me and clasp them around the flame, putting it out.
