"You're a dead man, Haw-," but the threat went unfinished as the line suddenly went dead. Clenching his jaw, anger coursed through him before he threw his phone at the wall.
"That stupid fucking bird!" Kuro screamed, his fist clenching as the phone smashed against it, clattering to the ground. How dare he get involved, how dare he call Y/N his. He would pay for this if it was the last thing he did. Turning in his chair, his eyes narrowed as he stared at the windows behind him.
How the hell had she even met Hawks? He'd been trying to track her down for months, finally finding her at that stupid restaurant, only to learn she was on a date with the number two hero? He wasn't naive; Hawks was a good-looking man. He'd seen the magazine covers, the various photoshoots he'd done. That's why it made no sense to him. What would someone with his status, his looks, his money, choose someone like her?
"Boss?" A voice cut through the silence, forcing him to grimace. He turned his head, his eyes meeting his intern's nervous stare. "We've got a problem."
"Define a problem?" He snapped, and his intern shuffled his feet nervously, eyes wide and terrified.
"The...Commission is at the door." He said quietly, his voice squeaking slightly. Koru stared at the other man, clenching his jaw. Had Hawks sent them here? Was he that serious about keeping that stupid bitch to himself?
"God works hard, but it seems Hawks works even fucking harder." He mumbled under his breath, turning around fully and standing. He straightened his suit, sucking in a breath.
"Hide the goods. You know the protocol. I'll take care of this." He said calmly, and his intern wasted no time, scurrying out of his office like a scared little mouse. He rolled his eyes, quickly making his way towards the front door, sucking in a deep breath before opening it.
"How can I help you?" He asked, his gaze wandering over the three men that now stood in front of him. The man in the middle looked vaguely familiar, black hair slicked back, a suit that just seemed to scream importance. The men on either side of him also wore suits, less expensive and certainly not tailored as nicely.
"Kuro Takahashi?" The man in the middle asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"That's me, what can I help you with?" He replied, gritting his teeth.
"My name is Jiro Hayashi. I'm the Vice President of the Hero Public Safety Commission. I'm here to talk with you about Y/N." He said calmly, and Kuro blinked at them in curiosity before pushing the door open and inviting them inside.
"We can talk in my living room." He said, leading them into the house. "Make yourselves comfortable. Would you like anything to eat or drink?" He was a lot of things, but a bad host was not one of them.
"No, thank you. I'd like to get some answers to a couple of questions I have regarding Y/N. I think maybe we can strike up a deal here," the Vice President said, settling into a chair. Kuro blinked at him, his curiosity burning as he took a seat across from him. If they weren't here to try and arrest him for attempting to take her today, what the hell did they want?
"A deal?" He asked, and the Vice President gave him a small smile, but despite the gesture, it was cold, calculated in a way that made even Kuro's stomach twist with nerves.
"Yes, a deal," he said, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees, his fingertips touching as he sucked in a breath. "You seem like the kind of guy who doesn't like dancing around the point, so I'll get straight to it. You see, the Commission is very invested in the future. I assume you know who Hawks is, correct?"
"Of course I do," Kuro snapped, rolling his eyes. "Who the hell hasn't seen him in action?"
"Exactly," he replied with a chuckle, "You see, Hawks is very important to us. His quirk has been an invaluable asset, and we feel it's time for him to settle down and start a family. We call it the Future Securement program. We match some of our top-rated heroes with compatible quirkless partners."
