Just one week before Liam was due home, Eva heard her phone ring in the middle of the night. She grabbed it. It was 2am and Liam was calling. She answered it quickly, knowing something had to be wrong. "Liam?" she asked, her voice hoarse from just waking up. The light was too bright had she had to close her eyes for a second. She heard him sniff. He was crying. "What's wrong, baby?"

"He's not coming back."

"What? Who is not coming back? It's 2am and I'm a bit foggy." she told him.

"Zayn. He's not coming back on tour. He's not coming back to the band. He quit. He didn't even tell us. Management told us. He fucking quit." Liam was angry, now.

"Oh, baby. I'm so sorry. I know he's your friend. He'll call you. It will be okay. You've been without him for a week and you are fine. It will all be fine." Eva tried to reassure him, but this one was beyond anything she could really understand. He called those boys his brothers. This was like a Zayn saying he didn't want to be his brother anymore. She desperately wished she was there to hold him. He looked like he needed it.

"I'm sorry for waking you up..." Liam began.

"It's okay. Really."

"I just needed to see you." He hung his head. "5 more days."

"Yep! I can't wait. I'm going to make you a special dinner and everything!" she said, trying to cheer him up. "I have a recipe from your mom!"

"All I want is you, honestly." He looked back up at her. He put his finger on the screen where her lips were. "I need you."

"I could be there in 11 hours." she told him. "I can call the airlines right now."

"No, it's okay. Just stay with me until you fall back asleep." Liam begged. Eva lay down and propped the phone up on his pillow. Liam starting taking to her and before she knew it, it was morning.

The day before he was due home, Dylan and Eva were going to have a spa day. Dylan was her best girlfriend and former flatmate. "So, what did you sign us up for, anyhow?" Eva asked.

"The works! You are going to be plucked, waxed, painted and smoothed! It's going to be fabulous!" Dylan said proudly. "Then we are going shopping!"

"So, torture followed by more torture. Awesome. I can't wait." Eva said, sounding completely unhappy at the idea of being plucked and waxed.

After spending nearly six hours in the spa, Eva and Dylan walked out looking worse than when they walked in. "What did they do to me? I'm all red and my hair is a mess!"

"But think how great you will look tomorrow when Liam walks in that door. You need a new nightie and then you have to pose yourself somewhere. Light a bunch of candles! It will be super romantic." Dylan explained.

"Uh, Liam is going to wonder who I am if I do that." Eva laughed.

"Come on, you." Dylan said, dragging her down the street. "I know for a fact that you only own two nice nighties and Liam has seen them both. You can't greet him in an old t-shirt."

Eva almost felt bad for Dylan. She wanted so much for Eva to be romantic and dreamy so she could live though her and Eva never cooperated. She just wasn't that person. Sure, she loved it when Liam took her out dancing or bought her flowers, but she wasn't big on planning for these things. Plus, she knew the Liam liked it when she wore his old shirts. "If I do this, I don't have to go back to that spa for at least three months, got it?"

"Yes!" Dylan yelled, jumping up and down. "Let's go!"

The day he was due home, she asked the cleaning lady to come early. She wanted everything ready and waiting. She also made dinner and stored it in the fridge, ready to be baked off when he was hungry. He was due home around 4pm. He would be tired, after flying all night
