"That's not funny, Liam." Eva said and then she started to shake."That is not funny."

"I'm not lying to you. Andrew is with your mother. Your father is gone." Liam said.

She was shaking, crying and screaming at Liam "Stop saying that! Stop saying that! It's not funny."

Liam pulled her down off the bed and into his lap. He just held her as she cried. He gently rocked her back and forth, rubbing her hair and kissing her forehead. He had no idea what else he could do. Andrew didn't want to tell he over the phone, he wanted Liam to be able to comfort her, to know what was happening when she got hysterical. Andrew knew his sister well.

He had asked Liam to get her and Lex home, safely. Things needed to be taken care of and Andrew needed her there. He needed to get her calm enough so he could explain what had to happen. They had to get her to the states and her family.

On his nightstand, Liam heard his phone chime. It was Niall.

Niall: She's on her way up and she is a complete mess.

Niall didn't have to explain. Andrew must have call them, too. Liam heard the door crash open and Lex yelling, "Eva!" over and over. She ran into the bedroom and threw her arms around Eva, so they could cry together.

Niall walked in the room a moment after. "Sorry, Man. She insisted."

Liam just waved his hand in a 'it doesn't matter' way and rubbed Eva's back. "Niall, I have to make a few phone calls and we all need plane tickets. Can you..." he nodded his head in the direction of the girls. Niall nodded and sat on the floor, by Lex and Liam grabbed his phone. He walked out to the balcony and called his mom.

After she said hello, he lost it, crying. "Liam. What happened? Is something wrong? Talk to me!"

He took a deep breath and said, "Eva's dad had a heart attack yesterday and died. We have to go to the states. I need to you cancel everything. Can you do that? Just, stop it all."

"Oh, Liam. I am so sorry. I will handle it. Just, go take care of her." Karen told him. Just like that, 6 months of planning could be undone with a phone call. Stop the caterer, don't put up the tent, call the family and the florist. The wedding wasn't going to happen.

Next, he called Dylan and she agreed to tell their circle of friends. After that was management. Stop the photographer. Give back the money. No wedding to sell. Finally, he called the airlines and booked a late flight for the four of them. He had eight hours to get her calm enough to go on a plane.

Liam returned to the bedroom, gave the flight information to Niall and he dragged Lex away, explaining that she had to pack to go home. Liam sat back on the floor and pulled Eva back into his lap. "I am so sorry, Evie. What can I do?"

She shook her head. "Nothing. There is nothing. Just let me lay here."

He let her stay curled on his lap while he talked to her. "I'm going to get you home, Evie. The plane leaves in a few hours. Tell me when you are ready so we can pack. You need to get to your family." She just nodded. "You also need to eat something. It's past lunch and you didn't eat breakfast. Do you want something to eat?" She shook her head no. Liam leaned his head back against the bed and kept just rubbing her back, trying to give her time to process her new reality. Her breathing became steady and even. She had fallen asleep. As carefully as he could, he got up and placed her on his side of the bed and went to get the suitcases.

If there is one thing Liam knew how to do, it was pack. He had both suitcases open and on the suitcase stand. The garment bag was open on the other side of the bed. He started with himself, piling in undergarments, jeans, t-shirts, shoes, his shaving kit and his bathroom kit. Then he grabbed two suits, several shirts, ties and dress pants for the garment bag. Next, he went to Eva's closet. He stood on the middle of it and looked around. He had no idea what she would want to take besides jeans and a few nice dresses. She had all her dresses hanging at one end of her closet. He started to look through them, just to see if he could find something. No bright colors, no dresses without a sleeve of some kind, plain, longer, and he thought it should be black, which left him with two black gowns that she had worn to events. Way too fancy. He was out of options, except for a garment bag, way in the back. He unzipped it, to see if it was an option.
