 Liam: I've got her.

Niall: Thank god. This place is boring. No wonder she likes it.

Liam: Hey, that's my woman you're talking about.

Niall: Ya, I know. And she likes shit that is boring.

"Now," Liam asked. "Can we go? And why are you here?"

"No. I need more ice cream and my mom is looking for a dress for the wedding. Lex and I ditched her." Eva grinned.

He grinned back. "You can get ice cream from room service. I'm tired and I need a nap. By the way, I'm liking the sundress thing. Can't wait to see it crumpled on the floor.

"Pig!" Eva pretended to be offended. Then she took the spoon away from Liam and ate the rest of her ice cream. "I thought you didn't like stranger's spoons?"

"It's your spoon. I faced my fear, just for you." Liam said. He pushed her off his lap and stood up. "Let's go."

"Okay, just stand right there. I need to throw this out." Then she grinned as water hit Liam right in the back of his head. She giggled and took off for the trash can with Liam right behind her. Eva tossed the cup out and spun around just in time for Liam to grab her.

"Got ya." Liam said. "It's your turn." He watched the spray and went over to where he was sure it would spray next.

"I'd move, Liam."

"I'm not falling for..." The water hit the side of Liam's head. He just stood there, dripping wet. "Oh, Fuck. Let's go."

"Liam! Move!" The water came back and hit him in the other side of his head. He wiped his face, grabbed Eva's hand and walked out of the atrium. She was still giggling as he pulled her outside.

"How is it that you are clearly the one in the wrong here and I'm the one who is wet?" Liam asked.

"Karma?" Eva giggled.

"Karma? I'll give you Karma." he said and pulled her in for along, wet kiss.

Lex and Eva had to leave Chicago the next day. Her mother found a dress, dark purple, so she would match, but not match, the bridesmaids. She was overly excited about it and kept trying to corner Eva or Lex to talk about it. The day before Liam's party, when they were busy making food in Gwen's super clean kitchen, she started talking to them again. She had them trapped.

"Listen, girls, I know you don't want to talk to me. I just need to tell you somethings, okay? I know I've been a horrible mother. I know I haven't always done what I maybe should have. But, I do love you both, very much."

Eva and Lex were frozen in shock. "Uh..."

"I know, I know. Why the bleeding heart thing from the dragon lady? I guess it's time you knew. Your father has been making me go to a marriage counselor. He threatened divorce if I didn't. I've already talked to Andrew. I just needed to talk to you. I want you to know that I always did what I thought was best for you. I suppose I should have asked what you wanted, but I wanted my children to feel perfect and not like a felt as a child."

"Mom! You have great parents! Stop this 'awful childhood' crap." Eva interrupted.

"You should know better that anyone that how your feel inside is more important that what people tell you. I know you think you are stupid, Eva. I know you don't think you are pretty. It doesn't matter how many people tell you that you are smart or pretty. You will never believe them. I felt abandoned. It's taken years for me to even admit it. It didn't matter how much your grandparents loved me. I felt unlovable. And it made it hard for me to show other people, even my children, how I feel about them."

Gwen stopped talking for a moment. Eva and Lex looked at each other. They had no idea what to even say. What do you say to someone who just spilled there guts to you?

"That being said, Eva, I'm sorry I haven't been supportive of your wedding. Liam is obviously good for you. You have come out of your shell, and I'm glad. I am also sorry for not contacting you after your miscarriage. I lost a baby between Andrew and you, and I knew better than anyone the pain you felt, but I let my anger cloud that."

"Thanks, mom. That's means a lot to me." Eva said.

Gwen nodded. "Now, Lex. I'm okay with UCLA. It's a good school and you can get a business degree as a backup plan. I am NOT okay with you dating a 21 year old rock star. I'm sure he's a nice boy, but slow down on that, okay? You are just barley 18 and are still in highschool."

"Okay, mom. We aren't serious, I promise. He tells me all the time to find a boy my own age." Lex giggled.

"Well, that makes me like him just a little bit." Gwen smiled."Do you need help with all the food?"

"Do you know how to make a tray of veggies look nice?" Eva asked.

"Arranging! I can do that." Gwen sat on a stool and motioned for the girls to hand her the things she needed.

Eva and Lex looked at each other and mouthed "OMG and WTH" at each other as they watched their mother use her kitchen, quite possibly, for the first time.
