A few mornings later, Eva was reading in bed, letting Liam sleep. Eventually, he rolled over and said good morning to her. "You mean, good afternoon. It's late. I showered without you." Eva told him.
"What? But, that's my favorite part of the day! What am I going to do now?"
"Shower alone. And soon. You are supposed to meet Lou at 2." she reminded him. "I'll go make you some lunch."
She started to get up, but Liam grabbed her sides and pulled her back. "No. Stay with me." He nuzzled his nose into her hair. She sighed. "What? Don't want to cuddle? I'll give you a free sniff of me!"
She gave him a playful smack and said "Sure, I'd love to cuddle you, but I have a class to work on and I need to go get groceries. Plus, right now, you stink."
"Pfft. I do not stink! And who cares about classes? You don't want to work. You want to bake biscuits and sew patches on jeans. Come on, let's make a baby right now." He started to kiss the back of her neck.
"As great as that offers sounds, One, It's impossible right now and Two, I want to be married to you before I get pregnant again." Eva explained.
"That fine. We can just practice." Liam said.
"Oh! Just what every girl dreams of." She rolled her eyes and started to move.
"I'm not letting you go. And, what do girls dream of? You've never told me the rest of your fantasies."
Eva sighed again. "I'm not telling you. You are a fantasy ruiner. Ruined the beach, Ruined the club. I don't want you ruining anymore."
"Come on!" Liam said. "I'll tell you one of mine."
"Oh, god. Yours are weird." she said.
"Excuse me? Sex on the stage is no weirder than sex in a locker room. Okay, someday I want to have sex on my front lawn. Your turn." Liam said.
"Okay, that's weird and not very exciting. Well, except for when the cops show up. That might be fun." she laughed.
Liam poked her. "It's not. Let's hear it. Go."
"I didn't agree to your terms."
"I will sit on you until you tell me." He moved so that he could sit on her hips.
"No! Okay. Stop." Liam laid back down. "Okay, so someday I want you to come home and just grab me, throw me on the bed and rip my clothes off. Like, not even speak. You just missed me so much that you can't even wait and say Hi."
"Okay. I can do that tonight." Liam said.
"And now you've ruined it. You can't tell me! It's supposed to a big shock. Like one second, I'm vacuuming and the next I'm in bed with you. You can't TELL me." She let out a huff of breath.
"Okay, so I'll wait a few days"
"You have missed the point completely. Get dressed. You don't want to be late. I'll make you something to eat." Eva untangled herself from him and headed for the door. "That makes 3, by the way. I will never tell you another one. I'll tell the mailman." She stuck out her tongue and ran away.
"Hey!" Liam called after her, but it was too late. She was gone. He was going to have to shower alone.
Eva finished her coursework and went and got food. She was putting things away when her phone rang. She assumed it was Liam and was surprised to see Lex's face on the screen. "Hey, Lex, what's up?"
"How do you pay the electric bill?" Lex asked.
"What? Ask mom."
"I can't."
