He waited by the front entrance of the school's gym under the purple sky. After countless of times glancing at the time on his phone, he sensed a presence approaching him jubilantly as a body in a subtle green dress greeted him.

"Hello, Sasuke," Sakura waved sweetly with an jaw-breaking smile, added with an undeniable blush and a curled strand from her messy updo falls to her cheek. It was obvious that she was extraordinary blessed to be his date, telling by the appearance of her make-up that probably took hours to do.

"Want to go in?" she suggested shyly, nearing him with the widest grin.

The Uchiha grumbled under his breath and then finally gave in, hoping nobody would tease him about his friendly date.

Walking inside the gym was no problem; packed with people in the same attire as them and the light was slightly dimmed to adjust the poppy vibe. The second the two approached the snack table, a few heads wandered and caught a sight of the pair.

"Sakura's your date?!" Sasuke wished the blonde didn't see him though. The envy was written through his horrified, blue eyes while his jaw dropped in awe. He knew that the Uzumaki would maul him later.

"Nice," Shikamaru said sarcastically, winning a helpless expression from the raven. Sakura didn't bother to argue with them, especially Ino who was just too eager to wring out answers from the pinkette, and giggled happily beside Sasuke while holding onto his arm.

Trailing her green gems to a particular figure coming from outside, excitement filled in Sakura's profile.

"Ayu! There you are," she called behind her, and Sasuke immediately perked his ears by the name and followed his date to greet her.

With a single glance, he admired the outlook of the brunette who wore a lavender, chiffon dress and silver heels. Her straight, brown hair were curled into beach waves with a thick, white ribbon tied behind her head. She looked quite endearing to glimpse at as a hidden adoring smirk found its way to Sasuke's lips.

The same loud heart beat ring through his ears.

"Sasuke. Sakura," Ayu greeted with a smile, her light make-up shone her face brighter. Sakura met her with a hug, telling her how thankful she is to have the raven be her date for this dance. "Hehe... what are you guys up to?"

"We were just walking around," she shrugged, sheerly satisfied with Sasuke's boring attitude. "Actually, I want to use the restroom really quick. Can you guys wait here for a sec?"

She spoke for the both of them and nodded as she skipped to the ends of the hall, disappearing within the line of people. Standing motionlessly by the front entrance of the gym, a comforting silence filled the air as Ayu gave a daring glance at Sasuke's formalwear from top to bottom.

With only a white dress shirt hanging over his hips, a loose tie around his neck, and a pair of black pants and leathered shoes; it was a lazy look for someone like him. Or perhaps someone who could careless for these things like dances.

"Is that how you tie a tie, Sasuke?" she giggled which drew his attention.

He was bewildered by her observation but then glanced down at the black knot over his chest that was twisted improperly. Embarrassed, he muttered quietly, "I'm not used to this kind of thing."

But he froze when Ayu stepped closer to him, undoing the knot and then folding it tightly. "Well, despite your effortless appearance, I'm glad you've made it," she said genuinely. "Sakura looks happy. How's everything so far with her?"
