Sasuke did not like the fact that his former best friend was here, not when things were going great like how they should be. He hated it now that he's back to torment Ayu and her lost feelings.
He saw that she didn't say a single word yet, breathless and frozen at the sight of the pair standing before her. The memory of her heartbreak flashed to her eyes with the same despair depressing her mind.
Satoshi is in front of her, with a new girl by his side.
In the midst of awkward staring, Ayu was suddenly pulled from behind and stumbled beside Sasuke protectively, which draw her attention to his onyx eyes. It almost felt like deja vu when he did that.
"Sasuke," Satoshi started, realizing the Uchiha in the background. "It's been a while."
He watched Ayu's brown eyes lowered sadly after eying down at the entwined hands between Satoshi and the girl. The expression on her face faltered and remained unwritten.
"Who are they?" the girl asked Satoshi with a bright smile. He gave an assuring nod before looking at the two.
"This is Sasuke, my best friend when I used to live here," then his green gems trailed to the silent brunette girl who still endured her silence. "And this is Ayu, ...my friend."
A 'friend' he says. It didn't surprise her one bit. The word 'friend' held no meaning between them whatsoever. They were more than that.
"It's nice to meet you. My name is Amaya," she stated happily. This was when Ayu realized who she was.
Amaya, the girl Satoshi saved from suicide, looked obviously out of the ordinary, almost too skinny for her height and pale as a porcelain vase. The side of her head was shaved on one side as the rest of her short, blond hair was tossed on the other side of her face.
Ayu was awed while Sasuke only kept quiet, only observing the brunette's reaction as this scenario continued on.
"I never knew Satoshi has good-looking friends! You're so cute, Ayu," Amaya greeted which caused the brown headed girl to stutter a shy reply.
"Ah, thank you." There was no denying that she was unaware what to do. This person was really kind, and that gave no excuse for Ayu to be jealous of her.
In fact, it made her feel even more sad.
"Satoshi, I will be in the bathroom if you want to catch up with your friends. Is that okay?" She suggested to him kindly, but this is the part where they weren't hoping for that to happen.
But the unthinkable he did was accepting it, and nodded. "Yeah, no rush."
Ayu's mouth dropped subtly after watching the blond headed girl let go of his hand and gave a small peck on his lips. That gave a toll on her as her eyes began to haze.
It almost scared Sasuke, guessing what her mind is thinking at this point.
"What made you come back, Satoshi?" he finally spoke which made his green eye aim at him.
He chuckled quietly to himself before rubbing his head, "I've always wanted to come here, ever since I asked Ayu to go with me."
"And you brought Amaya," this time, Ayu broke out emotionlessly.
It was enough for Satoshi to detect the hurtful tone in her voice as he stared down in guilt. A frown came to his lips. "I didn't think I'd run into you guys, honestly."
