        Damn it...!

Sasuke punched a wired fence beside him as his knuckles shook it violently, causing a shaky ripple. He gritted his teeth tightly until he can hear a snap in his molars by the last encounter he saw Ayu's face. It was totally unexpected, making her see him this way - this mental issue he's in.

Why did she have to be there? To see all of his doings and most importantly getting scolded by their instructors. It embarrassed him in every way.

He couldn't help but to recall her last words to him while a picture of her rounded face appeared innocent to him. For some reason, he felt ashamed and frustrated just by thinking about it - the fact that he disappointed her made him feel ill.

Clutching his head, Sasuke continued to glare threateningly at the ground. Why am I getting so fed up about this?

If that doesn't make him feel any shittier, then he doesn't know what will.

The idea didn't linger long when the young Uchiha commenced his way to a particular house he admired the most; his house. The door was easy to slide by as he familiarized himself the rooms he almost forgotten. No furniture, like he expected, but some remained there, untouched and covered by thick plastic.

The air was dull compare to how it used to be so lively with his mom always coming into living room, always greeting him a 'welcome'. Now, it's not there and it took a toll on Sasuke's heart, aching painfully.

Adventuring the upstair area, he noticed the ghost door right beside his old room. Sadness rushed to his thoughts as one simple person with his usual smiling, dented face appeared in his mind.

        Itachi's room.

Pushing the door wider, Sasuke was greeted by the smell of his brother's familiar musky scent of cologne and old ink. Everything was still in its place as nostalgia made him realize how he used to come into this room and see Itachi on his bed, always napping or doing his studies. It was the younger Uchiha male who always bugged him for help.

Just by remembering those old memories saddened him deeper, because now he doesn't have him and his family to come to. He lost them both.

Getting touchy and personal with each belongings of Itachi's, Sasuke came upon a loose drawer that was slightly opened while his curious eyes peeked at something unknown to him. He reached his hand in and found multiple of photographs of his family, and some were just him and Itachi. And in a hidden compartment at the back, he felt something cold and metal.

        A pistol.

The raven flopped down on the ground as he laid out every picture on the floor, surrounding him with each memoir and imprinting every face in his mind. His heart was hurting with each glance of his family's content smiles, imagining their laughs and voices. Then slowly, tears overwhelmed his soul-less eyes as his intelligence turned dark.

A life without them seems too complicated, not in this world he's trapped in. Now that he thinks about it, there's not a lot of people here who can feel his pain, reach out to him and care as much as his mother did. Ending his short life seems like a way to go to regain everything he had once.

Brainwashed, Sasuke raised the nozzle of the pistol to the side of his head once his finger found its place over the trigger after releasing the safety. His heart paced slowly as he counted every second in his head.

Footsteps creaked in the halls but his mind zoned out to even pay attention to the little things around him. He began to pull the trigger when a presence entered the room.

        Can he really do it?

        "SASUKE! Stop!"

In a blink second, a sudden weight attacked him and the next thing he knew, the gun shot upwards as it left a black, powdered hole in the ceiling. His pistol fell out of his grip as it skidded across the floor far away from his reach.

His blank eyes coiled back alive when he finally saw the person flinging her body against his, clinging onto his shirt shakily. Most importantly, the emotion in her eyes that struck Sasuke the most, Ayu was crying.

"What the hell were you thinking trying to kill yourself like that?!" she slatted angrily as the shock didn't leave his face. "Did you really think this is the only way to solve everything?!"

Sasuke watched her trembling form as the tears sprang quickly from her face. Ayu was sobbing uncontrollably like she was betrayed; like his attempt in suicide affected her deeply. Never did he think that she would look like this if his suicide was a success, ever.

Finally his determined eyes remained still while he grasped onto her shoulders tightly as if everything she was saying was foreign to him. "Ayu..."

"Sasuke," she started. "I'm sorry. I know how much you love your parents, and even your brother... I should've done more to help. I didn't think you would go this far, without telling anyone. I know I can be useless and oblivious, but I still want to be there for you... So please, Sasuke. Without you, I can't imagine how difficult it would be if you were gone too. I would never forgive myself for trying to save you..."

Tears constantly poured out of her squeezed eyes as Sasuke felt her grip tightened on his chest. She muttered harshly, almost choking, "I really... don't want you to die...!"

The raven only stared peacefully at her sobbing expression, inspecting every tear she cried and every gasp she hiccuped. There's no lie in her sweet voice.

Ayu didn't quite notice his hand raking her head as she critically control her sobs in shyness. He frowned deeply.

It's been so long since he heard her cry. The last time is for Satoshi, and now...

Why are you crying for me, Ayu?

"I," she answered, "still want you here, Sasuke... more than you know."

A pulse erupted in his chest by those words as his blood began to warm again, breaking him. Then Sasuke impulsively roamed his large hands over her back and up to her blades. It was then Ayu realized that she was pulled against his chest with caring arms surrounding her.

Being held by the most sarcastic and cynical Sasuke for the first time, it touched her significantly.

"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I'm sorry, Ayu..."

With a calming pat on her head, he reluctantly let go of her as his quivering eyes aimed down at the ground, shielding his face with his hair. "I'll try... Okay? So, just stop crying now."

Although she didn't immediately stopped with her sadness, instead they were tears of relief that Ayu quietly cried in happiness. All the worry she overcame after searching for him after school and running to his aunt's apartment, she was pleased to find him here.

And just like that, she nodded.

Starting today, Ayu was unaware of a complicated road she was directing herself to; the bumpy road with Sasuke Uchiha.
