Once you saw that blood you knew in your heart something went wrong. You felt your knees give out as you fell to the floor and sobbed. You felt your stomach—where your child should have been—where they had been only moments before.

"(y/n)?" Merlin asked from the doorway, he noticed the blood. "(Y/N)!" Merlin called running in and kneeling next to you. The way you held your stomach and the cries of agony that followed told Merlin all he needed to know.

You'd miscarried, yours and Arthur's child!

"I'll get Arthur—and Gaius." Merlin offers but you immediately react.

"No—no—no—please just—just Arthur." You plead with Merlin. You didn't want so many people to know what had happened, not yet; you just wanted Arthur.

Merlin sighed, not liking you not wanting to see the physician. But he wasn't about to go against his queen's wishes, "as you wish my lady." He says before leaving you alone once more.

Not much time later your husband came running in. He saw the blood and he heard your sobs, when you saw him you reached your arms out for him. He took your hands, not carrying about the drying blood on them as he helped you up.

He held you to his chest your arms coming up to fist his shirt tightly. You nuzzled into his chest as he tried to comfort you. He cupped the back of your head, "Arthur—" you whimpered out.

"Shh...it's okay, my love—I'm here—I got you." Arthur whispers as he holds you close. He tries to hold in his tears as best he could because he knew you needed him at the moment. He could cry later, but right now you needed his comfort.

After holding you for a while and after hearing your cries turn to sniffles Arthur looks down at you. "Can we take you to Gaius, now love?" Arthur asks softly. You take in a breath and nod your head. "Can you walk or do you want me to carry you?" He asks.

"I don't think I could walk—even if I tried." You tell him honestly.

"Alright." He says as he wraps your arm around his neck and he picks you up with ease. He walks with you out of the room and Merlin sees Arthur carrying you.

"Merlin go up ahead and inform any guards or other servants to go another route to their destination. Nobody is to see my wife right now, is that understood?" Arthur demands and Merlin nods.

"Of course." Merlin understands and runs ahead of the two of you.

Arthur turns back to you and leans his forehead against yours. "Hold tight, sweetheart." Arthur says as he began to walk you to Gaius's chamber's. When the physician saw you he immediately whisked Arthur inside.

"Set her down there." Gaius tells Arthur who lays you down. Gaius bends down, "Merlin turn around for goodness sake." Gaius says and Arthur smacks the back of his servants head for even attempting to continue to look at you.

"Arthur?" You call and he walks over and kneels beside you. You grip his hand as Gaius pulls up your gown just enough to where he can examine you. After a few moments Gaius looks up at the two of you, his look only confirmed what you had already known.

"Well?" Arthur asks, wanting verbal confirmation.

"I'm terribly sorry to you both, even with the best care imaginable, these things happen." He says, "my condolences to you both." Gaius says and you just nod, not saying a word.

"Merlin can you take (y/n) back to our room?" Arthur asks his servant who turns back around and nods. If Arthur trusted anyone with you in this vulnerable state it was Merlin.

"Come along, (y/n)." Merlin coerce's you to leave with him. He takes your hand and you're able to walk; you look back at Arthur and he just gives you a nod.

"I'll be back in our chamber's soon, I promise." He replies to your pouting look. You only nod and he watches as you leave.

Once your gone Arthur turns to Gaius. "What can I do for her, to help her?" He asks.

"Run her a hot bath and sprinkle this in the bath water, it will clean away the remaining blood." Gaius explains handing Arthur a vial. "For now I would recommend you or Merlin to stay close to her at all times. She is filled with complete agony right now; you two are the only people she fully trusts right now. She needs that level of security and safe feeling she feels with the two of you." Gaius enforces.
He rests a calming hand on the young king's shoulder, "I'm sorry for your loss, my lord; I know you're grieving too." Gaius empathizes. Arthur looks over at the old man, and he was amazed how he could read him like a book so easily.

"Thank you, Gaius—for everything." Arthur says bidding the physician goodbye.

When Arthur returned to his chamber's Merlin was already getting the water ready for the bath. Arthur took the bucket from his servant, "thank you, Merlin I'll take it from here." Arthur says and Merlin nods before leaving.

Arthur pours the warm water into his bath and then took the vial Gaius had given him and spilled the contents into the water. "Come here, sweetheart." Arthur says and you get up and trudge over to him. He helps you out of your blood covered clothes and into the warm water.

You hummed in content at the feeling of your muscles relaxing in the water. Arthur sat beside the bath and held your hand in his. He brushed his finger over your tear-stained cheek and you leaned into his touch.

"I thought you had to be somewhere, today?" You say to him, and yes while he did have a meeting planned he was not about to go to it and leave you here alone.

"Yeah, right here—I'm supposed to be right here." He says and a tear slipped down your cheek. Arthur treated you so well and you loved him for it. "I'm right here, my love, and I'm not going anywhere." He promises.
