You wiped your sweat-covered brow with your sleeve as you took a short break from the back-breaking work. "Are you alright dear?" Hunith asked as she stared at you and your belly which was swollen from the growth of your child. You knew you shouldn't have been working while you were with child, but you didn't have much choice.

There was a time when you lived in better conditions far from Ealdor. You were once a servant to the king of Camelot, ever since you were 16 years old. You had grown to love Camelot, it had become your home.

You missed Morgana and Gwen immensely, they had been your confidants when the work load got to you. You missed Merlin as you two had grown up together in Ealdor, and he was the only one who knew whose baby resided in your belly. Which brought you to the person who you missed more than all of them combined, Arthur Pendragon.

You remembered the time you'd spend with him. The way his hands would hold you up, the way his lips would kiss yours to silence your moans. The way his eyes stared so deeply into yours that you felt like you would drown in their blue depths. Your love for each other was apparently too strong to contain one night, which is how you found yourself here today.

You had been late and your breasts had become tender. You hadn't had morning sickness, but your mother was Ealdor's midwife and you had helped her deliver babies ever since you were a young girl; you knew the signs.
You had left Camelot without telling anyone, well anyone but Merlin. You had kept his magic a secret as would he with your secret. Merlin would write letters to his mother and you; he updated you on Arthur and he told you that Arthur missed you everyday. He wondered everyday, where his love had gone?
But you couldn't stay, you couldn't burden him. He was a prince and you were a servant; you may have loved each other, but you could never be together. You could never raise your child with their father because you weren't married, and you were certainly no noble woman.

Snapping out of your memories, you gasped as you felt a pain in your stomach. You grabbed your belly as you groaned. Just as you felt wetness slip down your leg. "Come...we must go inside, dear." Hunith said softly as she helped you walk into her home.

She helped you breathe in and out, "please get me my mother!" You cry out to Hunith, tears streaming down your face. At that moment you were a scared child who just wanted her mother.

"Of course, dear." She said, she called for someone to fetch (m/n) and she let you squeeze her hand. "Your mother's coming, dear." Hunith states softly trying to keep you calm.

You cried out in pain just as your mother came into the house. She rushed toward you and took control of the situation. "Hunith, get me water and rags." Your mother said and Hunith nodded and went to go fetch what your mother had asked her to.

Your mother grabbed your hand as you cried, "I'm scared mumma." You whimper your fears, and your mother brushed a piece of hair from your face.

"You are strong, my girl, have faith. I'm right here, my baby." Your mother soothed just as Hunith returned with the supplies.

A few hours later you were finally ready to push. "Push (y/n), come on." Your mother called at your feet. Hunith was cooling you with the cloth as you gritted your teeth as you pushed with all your strength. You screamed; you thought you would die from the pain.

Pushing a few more times you felt all the pressure cease. Wait! Why wasn't it crying? Hunith left your side and you were left in the dark. Hunith took the child from your mother's arms, "what's happening?" You scream at them both, "why aren't they crying!" You cry, wanting to know what was wrong with your baby.

Your mother rushed to you and tried to soothe your cries. Because while Hunith was worried about your baby, your mother was worried about her baby.

Just as you thought all hope was lost a strong babies cry was heard. "It's a beautiful baby boy, (y/n)." Hunith states bringing your son to you.
