Weeks had flown by in a blur of intense training, late-night inventing, and secretive scheming, but today was different. Today was special. It was Mint's birthday, and instead of the usual grind, everyone decided to throw a party, something fun and carefree-a much-needed break from their usual chaos.
"Ughhh, are we sure this party is gonna be worth it?" CC groaned as he stuck another piece of decoration onto the wall, his face scrunched in mild annoyance.
Popee, busy inflating a balloon, shot him an unimpressed look. "Dude, chill. We just started decorating," he said, his words slightly muffled by the balloon he was blowing up.
"I mean, the party's definitely gonna be worth it once Mint sees everything. She's gonna flip!" Hayden grinned, standing on Colton's back as he struggled to tape up a glitter-covered banner. "Do you think she's into glitter?"
Colton adjusted himself, making sure Hayden didn't fall. "Uhh, pretty sure she hates glitter," Colton sighed, already seeing where this was going. "Let me guess-you already added some?"
Hayden's grin widened mischievously. "Guiltyyy~" he sang, gleefully shaking more glitter onto the decorations, the floor, and, unintentionally, onto everyone.
"Jesus, Hayden! You got glitter all over my new shirt!" Kai barked, brushing off the shimmering particles. "I'm never getting this off. This stuff is cursed."
Bendy giggled, inspecting his now sparkly ink-splotched body. "I dunno, man. I'm kinda feeling the sparkle! Adds a little flair, don't ya think?" He twirled around dramatically, glitter flying off him like a living disco ball.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, the aroma of something sweet filled the air as the trio-Chester, Bunnicula, and Ravi-worked on baking and cooking all sorts of treats.
Chester hummed nervously as he stirred the wet ingredients in a mixing bowl. "I dunno, guys. What if something happens right after the party? I'd literally die if something ruins today."
Bunnicula snickered, looking up from where he was decorating cupcakes. "Why do you sound so panicked? You like her or something?" He raised an eyebrow, teasingly nudging Chester.
Chester's face flushed as he sputtered, "What? No! Besides... I don't even like girls," he added with a nervous grin, his voice a little too high-pitched to be convincing.
Ravi smirked, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Ooooh, you like Hayds, don't you~?" he sang teasingly, joining in Bunnicula's playful taunting.
Chester's face turned crimson, and he nearly spilled the batter as he tried to deflect, laughing awkwardly. "Oh my god, you guys are the worst!" He rolled his eyes, though a nervous grin still tugged at his lips as Bunnicula and Ravi cackled in unison.
"C'mon, don't even try to deny it," Ravi teased, his grin as wide as ever. "Or is it Colton? Maybe even Kai? I mean, we wouldn't blame you."
Bunnicula nodded enthusiastically, a playful sparkle in his eyes. "Yeah, Ravi and I are totally in love, but wow, Colton? We all know he's a total hunk. And Kai? Please, that guy's got 'adorably attractive' down to a science." He grinned so wide it was nearly uncontrollable.
Chester rolled his eyes, though a faint blush crept up his cheeks. "Sure, Colton's pretty much the poster boy for good-looking centaurs, and Kai? He's cute in that way where you know he's doing it on purpose. But honestly, I'm more into the nerds than... whatever you'd call Colton and the rest of them," Chester said, flushing even deeper at the thought, like he was trying to push the conversation away from his own feelings.
Ravi and Bunnicula exchanged a knowing look, their smirks widening. "Okay, so you definitely like Hayden. He's exactly your type," Ravi said, filling the cupcake molds with batter, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
