After last night, everyone decided to take it easy today. Ravi was sprawled out on the couch, dressed in a hoodie and sweatpants. Bunnicula shuffled into the living room.
Ravi sat up, eyebrows raised. "Jesus dude, you look like roadkill. What happened? Another chick dump ya'?"
Bunnicula sniffled. "No, it's not that. I think I've gotten sick overnight, or maybe it's my allergies." He coughed weakly.
Ravi snickered. "Geez-that cough sounds nasty. What are you allergic to?"
Bunnicula fidgeted. "Sunflowers. I think Mint had some in her room, and just smelling them must've triggered this."
Ravi stood up, stretching. "I heard vampires like you usually go to a specialist. You should probably see one."
Bunnicula forced a grin. "That's the thing. I'm usually all wobbly when I'm like this, so I'm suggesting you take me."
Ravi thought for a moment. "Alright, I'm not busy." He grabbed the keys to the van.
Bunnicula smiled weakly, following Ravi. "You don't mind that I might get you sick?"
Ravi shook his head. "Nah, we're different species. I'm not worried about catching your vampire sickness." He chuckled as he started the van.
As they drove, Ravi turned to Bunnicula at a stoplight. "So, why'd you move here?"
Bunnicula's smile faded. "Just wanted to start a new life. What about you? You don't look like you're from around here either."
Ravi tapped his finger on the wheel, his expression darkening. "I don't want to talk about it." His antennas drooped and turned a grey hue.
Bunnicula kept glancing at Ravi, but decided to drop it. "That's cool. But you know, if you ever need-"
"I don't need anyone to talk to," Ravi cut him off, keeping his face stoic as he drove.
When they arrived at the clinic, someone suddenly blocked their way from the alley. The person had a manic expression, like they'd had way too much caffeine.
"Greetings! Headed to the clinic? No need! I can help with whatever you need. I work with all species-even if you two had a baby, I'd know what to do," the stranger advertised his dubious alleyway clinic.
Ravi furrowed his brows. "Uhm... we're not a-"
"No need to hide it, I can tell," the stranger teased, cutting him off.
Bunnicula sneezed and sniffled. "C'mon, man, just let us through to the real doctor. My throat's closing up."
Ravi nodded. "You heard him. Move it, and stop being annoying while you're at it." He grabbed Bunnicula's wrist and tried to walk past.
The stranger didn't budge, stepping in their way again. "But I can make all your problems disappear! Like your attitude," they snickered.
Ravi's expression turned to shock. "Who do you think you are? Don't make me call the cops on you, you lunatic!"
Bunnicula's voice turned high-pitched from his stuffy nose. "Yeah, what Ravi said! I bet you're not even a real doctor, Dr...." He squinted at the tag. "Sunshine!"
Dr. Sunshine grinned nervously. "No need to call the cops! I'm just trying to help."
Ignoring him, Ravi and Bunnicula walked to the clinic, only to find a "closed" sign hanging on the door. Ravi's jaw dropped. "Oh my god... you've gotta be kidding me." He groaned while Bunnicula looked at him worriedly.
Ravi's blood boiled. First, they were delayed by that crazy idiot, and now the clinic was closed. If he didn't get help soon, Bunnicula might end up in serious trouble.
Ravi stormed back to the alleyway where Dr. Sunshine was still lingering. "Alright, you better be right about knowing how to treat vampires. I will call the cops if you mess this up." He placed Bunnicula on a rickety chair.
Dr. Sunshine's smile widened sinisterly. "Oh, no need. But before I start, I need payment..." His smile twisted into a creepy, knowing grin.
Ravi rolled his eyes and pretended to search his pocket. "Do you accept this?" He pulled out a bird from his pocket.
Dr. Sunshine furrowed his brows. "Very funny, but I'm not playing your games."
Ravi groaned and handed over twenty bucks and some loose change. "That's all I got. Now hurry up and fix my friend."
Dr. Sunshine sighed, "Seems acceptable... Alright, I'll fix your little boy toy." He grinned.
Ravi felt his antennae sizzle with frustration and leaned against the wall, watching as the dubious doctor began his work.
After a while, Bunnicula emerged from the alleyway looking good as new. Ravi, with a mix of relief and curiosity, smiled. "Oh wow-no medicine or anything? Just pure magic?" He examined Bunnicula closely.
Ravi peeked into the alleyway to find Dr. Sunshine had vanished. He shrugged it off, more focused on getting back home.
As they climbed into the van, Ravi let out a weary sigh. "Man, now I'm the one who's sick and tired of everyone at the moment." He groaned, starting the engine.
Before Bunnicula stepped in, he walked around to the driver's side and opened the door. "Alright, Ravi, you get in the passenger seat. I'll drive."
Ravi got out, looking puzzled, and moved to the passenger side. "What's with the sudden kindness?" He raised an eyebrow.
Bunnicula shrugged. "Can't I show a little gratitude?" He snickered as he slid behind the wheel.
Ravi nudged Bunnicula playfully. "Oh, shut it. You know you're never like this." He giggled.
Ravi then grew serious. "But really, why the sudden change?"
Bunnicula blushed slightly. "I dunno, maybe it's because I saw how you handled the situation back there. I wanted to do something nice in return." He mumbled.
Ravi shrugged. "Alright then," he said, snickering.
When they finally got home, they plopped down on the couch, bonding over the day's events. Unbeknownst to them, they were sitting a little too close.
From the hallway, CC and Bendy were heading to the kitchen for snacks when they noticed Ravi and Bunnicula from the corner of their eyes. CC elbowed Bendy and smirked. "Hey, Bendy, do you see what I see?"
Bendy chuckled. "Oh, definitely. Something's up with those two."
CC whispered, "Think we should say something?"
Bendy grinned mischievously. "Nah, let's just head back and let them be,"
