A dreadful feeling filled Yelena to the core as she set the coordinates and took off with Sonya in the Quinjet. Seeing Kate had been amazing and she was more than satisfied physically but leaving her again was hard. She did her due diligence to get the archer to join them on the mission but alas, she was alone in the jet with the other Widow. "Turn that frown upside down, little spider. You've got me. It can't all be bad."

"A consolation prize," Yelena knew she was moping but can she really be to blame after the intense evening she spent with her fiancé? Plus, she was entirely convinced that Kate was going to do something stupid while she was away.

"We can always put the jet on autopilot and we go in the back. I be big spoon."

"Fuck all the way off," Yelena shoved her partner's shoulder. "Touch me and you'll lose a hand."

"The offer remains on the table," she chuckled.

"Something you can do for me is put good music on the Bluetooth."

"On it," Sonya walked over to connect her phone to the stereo. "This one is perfect."

"I hate you so much," Yelena flicked off the woman who had been singing along the entire time.

"No you don't," Sonya slid back into her copilot seat and held a fake microphone out to Yelena who took it and joined her in singing the rest of the song.

"So why did you really ask me to come with you," Sonya waited until the song switched before asking.

"We truly do need your help. Mama is fine but Scott and Alexei could use some work. They are really slowing us down. We've barely gone through half of our list. At the rate we were going we wouldn't have been back until the fall."

"It's June."

Yelena just looked at her, "yeah. I know."

"What's with the sudden urgency?"

"A few reasons..."

"One being getting back to looking for your sister. And?"

"It's stupid," Yelena knew her cheeks were turning pink.

"And she's blushing. Must have something to do with your spicy little cowgirl. Do tell."

"It's nothing like that and if you call her that again I will stab you."

Sonya smirked, "noted."

"Kate's birthday is next month. We missed celebrating last year because she wasn't with us. I'd really like to make it special for her," Yelena had stopped talking because she already felt vulnerable from leaving her fiancé. She didn't need to give Sonya any more ammunition.

"When is her birthday?"

"July 14th."

Sonya nodded, "then we will be home by the 13th. Planning anything special?"

Yelena smirked, "well that also happens to be national macaroni and cheese day. Best birthday, right? Anyway I was think we could all cook a bunch of different types and make it a thing."
