Kate slammed the scoop down onto the goat feed, startling her goats. Millie and Billy looked at her before falling over in fright. "Shit! Sorry! I forgot you guys were the fainting kind of goats. I'll do better," she waited for them to start moving again before she continued. "I can't even please the damn animals. At this rate, I just assume Yelena will never speak to me again." The first 10 days were bad enough but now they are going on 5 weeks of the bare minimum communication and it was driving Kate crazy. She really tried not to take it personally but after they all came back to the farm and the silence continued, she couldn't help but feel like it was the end of her relationship with the Widow.

After Sonya woke up, she was weak and couldn't use her left arm. Not to mention, her speech was off and she mostly communicated in Russian but she didn't seem to have any memory loss so the doctors at the Compound thought with appropriate physical, occupational and speech therapy, Sonya would make a full recovery. It would just be a really long process. When she was able, the doctors released her into Melina's care so she moved into her and Alexi's house which meant that Kate and Yelena had no option but to move back to Ohio.

"Scaring the goats to death now?"

Kate groaned, "I don't need your help, Nat." It didn't help that Natasha had come home with Kate and Yelena because this was her house after all or at least it was before she died and the red head didn't have anywhere else left to go. Natasha's presence definitely added to the tension between Kate and Yelena.

"Lucky for you, I'm offering," Natasha hopped the fence to the pen. "Plus, these goats love me. All the animals do. And it pisses Yelena off when she sees me with the animals."

"She tell you that?"

Natasha laughed, "relax. She's still not speaking to me either but if looks could kill, I'd be dead. I'm just hoping to piss her off enough to get her to fight me. Once we fight, we can move on."

"You could just walk up to her and sucker punch her."

"I don't want to die, Kate. She needs to initiate it or it won't work. We've done this song and dance before. What's your plan?"

Kate shrugged, "I can't punch her. I just assume that we are done. It's not like she'll talk to me to confirm or deny that. People in relationships usually talk about this kind of stuff."

"People and ex-widows are different. Yelena probably hasn't done anything like this, ever. I'm not sure she knows how to approach this."

"What do you suggest then because at this point, I'm not even sure I want to continue trying. Everyday I wake up and she's not in bed to say, good morning is another day my heart breaks."

"Have you thought about buying her a motorcycle?"

"Nat," Kate sighed, "I don't think showering her with gifts is the way back into her heart."

Natasha shrugged, "well have you thought about buying me a motorcycle? You are rich and I'm stranded here."

"Don't tell me this is going to turn into me buying you a bunch of shit."

"Well I did come back from the dead and you are maybe going to be my future sister in law. You could always think of it as very late birthday and Christmas presents."

Kate just rolled her eyes. She couldn't be mad at Natasha for trying and truthfully the woman was super fucking charming but now was the time for this until a thought popped into her head, "I'll make a deal with you. If you can help get Yelena to talk to me and I'm talking about actually talking and working things out then we can talk about presents for you."

Natasha pretended to think it over but that wasn't necessary, "such a fucking deal. First up, I need to get Yelena to punch me so we can move on then I'll figure out the rest." She sat down on the ground after checking for goat droppings, letting the goats come over and lick her face. "Are we getting that hairy cow or what?"
