After the reception, Jack's personal pilot dropped Kate and Yelena off at JFK. They had a smooth go through security since Kate had already hooked them up with a prescreen. They stopped to get a few drinks and snacks for the long plane ride with one layover in Dubai before they set off for their final destination. Kate spent the majority of the commercial airplane flight on her cellphone, watching tiktoks and replying to all the congratulation messages she had received.
Yelena on the other hand had spent the majority of the flight looking out the window as they flew over the clouds. This was the first time she had legally been allowed on a commercial flight. She used her license and passport to board the flight and nobody gave her any issues at security. It was strange. Usually she took private aircrafts or snuck onto planes with a fake identity. However, because of everything that transpired over the last year and thanks to Jen and Maria, she was able to walk right onto this mystery honeymoon flight. When Kate mentioned she wanted to plan the honeymoon, Yelena was sure she would be piloting the Quinjet but her new bride told her that she was getting the full vacation experience and that included flying first class. She had figured out quickly that they were headed to Malé based on her second boarding pass that was issued in Dubai. Yelena's only request for the honeymoon was that the destination was somewhere new for the both of them and somewhere they could unplug and just be with each other. "One hour left," the gentle voice of her new wife pulled her from her thoughts. It had been a long day of travel. Thankfully they had both slept a great deal on the first flight.
"We would've been there by now if you had let me fly."
Yelena heard the other woman laugh, "but then you wouldn't be flying first class. You don't like it?"
The widow turned her attention from the window, "I did not say that." She looked at her wife who had still been wearing her tux from the wedding. Kate had a change of clothes for Yelena in Jack's jet. "I just think there's better ways to celebrate today than to be flying for 20 hours."
Kate felt a full body shiver rack through her body, "yeah. It has been too long. Want to go to the bathroom?"
Yelena stifled her laughter, "I will not be having our first time as a married couple in a cramped airplane bathroom but nice try, Little Hawk."
"I've always wanted to become a member of the mile high club," Kate pretended to pout in her little airplane pod.
"What is that?"
"My delicate little flower," Kate smiled, "fucking in the airplane bathroom."
"People have a name for it?" She shook her head, "of course they do. Lovely offer but I think I can wait a little while longer."
"Okay," Kate looked her up and down, "but you aren't seeing you from my viewpoint. Who knew a simple white jumpsuit could be so enticing?"
Yelena smirked, "and you don't even know what I have on underneath this."
Kate groaned, "so unfair. I can slip the flight attendant a few hundreds to keep everyone else away. Or look," she reclined her seat all the way back, "we could just snuggle up on here."
"Because you are so good at being quiet and discreet. You can also wait," she chuckled. "How far away from the airport is it?"
"Have you ever flown on a seaplane? Like 30 more minutes on one of those and a little check in and I'll have you all to myself."
Yelena smiled to herself, still finding it hard to believe that she was married. Yelena Belova, little orphaned Black Widow, was a married woman, "this day has been a lot."
Kate reached over and grabbed her wife's hand, "not in a bad way though, right?"
Yelena laced their fingers together, "no, little hawk, in the best way." She kissed the back of Kate's hand before pointing out the window, "everything is so colorful."
