"A-and then you crease it here," Bill finishes, holding up his newspaper boat. He smiles proudly when he sees that yours doesn't look much different. He watches as you make the final crease and then hold your own boat up beside his, smiling equally bright.
"Thanks, Bill," you grin, setting the boat down and grabbing a sharpie to write the name of your boat. He watches you scribble 'S.S. Loser' on the side, dipping the paint brush into the bowl of melted parafin wax. Making these paper boats has been like therapy for Bill, and he can't help but feel warmth in his stomach as he watches you delicately paint the boat in wax.
