The front doorbell rings and you quickly answer it with a smile when you see it's Bill, a boy in your grade. You've been babysitting for his little brother all day and he can't seem to take his eyes off of your face.
"Hey, Bill!" you greet him with a sweet smile.
"Uh . . . H-hi," he says with a shy smile. You let him inside and the two of you stand in his front room for a few minutes, staring at each other awkwardly.
"Um, you know, usually the payment comes at this part . . ." you say awkwardly, not wanting to sound greedy.
"Oh yeah," he stammers, blushing profusely and fishing in his backpack for a couple of crumpled tens.
"Thanks," you say kindly, impulsively leaning up and kissing his cheek. "I'll see you in school, Bill."
