"And then he goes, 'I think I fucking shit my pants!'" you laugh, the rest of your old friends chuckling with you. Mike laughs especially hard, unable to conceive how he lost those loving feelings of you overtime. He blames it on It entirely, sneaking a quick look at your older but still gorgeous face. He glances down quickly at your hands, and sees with pleasure that you are unmarried.
"How you feeling, Mike?" you ask, always the caretaker of the group.
"Better because you're around," he blushes, making sure to word his phrase properly to hint at his resurfacing feelings. You seem to get the hint because you laugh a little and your cheeks tint pink.
"Well, maybe when this is all over, we can catch up together," you say with a smile.
