Ben wondered if this was the end for him. He tried to play the scenario in his head.
What did he do wrong? Did he made the wrong choice by accepting Anna's proposal in becoming a vampire? Should he had went to college and hopefully make a life for himself at outside of town or something?
In truth, he should have stayed out of it. All of it. From vampires, to witches to whatever Kaeden is.
Speaking of, the boy enters the basement with a blank face expression. Causing Ben to wonder what Kaeden would do to him.
"Bonnie's grandmother is dead. All because of you. And Anna." His voice was calm for a moment. Until he leaned in real close, with his hands on top of Ben's. "I should kill you, Ben. Tear you to pieces to the point that you can't be recognized. You wanna know why? You abducted Bonnie. Causing her and her grams to get involved in vampire problems. She died and I had to stay and comfort my girlfriend. And I wish you can see and feel how she felt. Her wailing because the only mother figure in her life is dead."
"I'm so sorry. For her. If you're gonna kill me, kill me. I deserve it. But if you let me go, I will leave. I swear to god. For good. You won't see me again."
Kaeden seemed unconvinced by that. At least at first he wasn't. But he can see the fear on his face. He can sense it. And yet every fibre of his being is telling him to kill him. Make an example to any vampire that comes to town and make some noises. But he relented. Remembering what his mom taught him.
And so Kaeden took off his restraints. "Follow me while it's still dark."

Once in the room, Kaeden got out a ring and gave it to Ben, who looked at him questionably. "It's a Daylight Ring. It will protect you from the sun. And Bonnie isn't the first witch I've met."
Ben puts it on and asked. "Now what?"
"While on the phone, Luka told me about a vampire that runs New Orleans. One of his guys is coming to pick you up. Because aside from the fact that the town's council knows about vampires, you kidnapped my girlfriend, so I don't want you in town anymore. Must less anywhere near her." After saying that, a car arrived and the driver honks the horn, to let them know he's here.
They went outside where Ben and Kaeden meets the vampire with dark hair and blue eyes. He also has an athletic build and a tall stature, wearing dark colored clothing. Chadwick then asked, "you Thierry Vanchure?"
"Yeah, that's me. This the vampire you wanted Marcel to take in?"
"That's right. Now I don't know how you vamps do it in New Orleans but he already has a daylight ring and he needs to get out of here. He ain't safe here no more." Kaeden told him and Thierry didn't bother asking as he opened the front passenger door for Ben. "The vamps in New Orleans will teach you. And it will be your home. But if you come back here, I will kill you. Now go."
