For Kaeden to say he's surrounded by dumbasses is not entirely an understatement.
So here's how it went.
Kaeden went to Elijah's party to discuss a few things. And he was playing nice with him. Treading lightly while he's at it.
What he didn't know though, was that Alaric and Damon were working together to "kill" Elijah. When that happened he said "I must be the only smartass here, because dumb and dumber just backstabbed an original". And Kaeden, being Kaeden, noticing that Elijah's body was gone, tracked the scent to the cabin owned by Elena's parents.
Elijah shows up at the lake house and tells Elena that their deal is off, demanding that she comes with him.
However, Elena threatens to turn herself into a vampire, but Elijah calls her bluff. She stabs herself and Elijah realizes that she'll either die or turn into a vampire if Stefan heals her with his blood. Elijah begs her to let him heal her; as Elena moves towards him, she stabs him with the white oak dagger.
Elena turns to Damon and Stefan and demand that they tell her everything from now on, and that she's decided to fight, rather than sacrifice herself.
Back at the Salvatore house, Damon tries to destroy Elijah's body with a flame-thrower, unsuccessfully.
Katherine appears to reveal that she wanted to get out of the tomb no matter what and explains that she knew Damon would die.
Stefan informs Bonnie and Jeremy that Katherine is back. He asks them to speak to Luka and Jonas to see if they can work together.
Later, Stefan and Bonnie meet Luka and Jonas at the Grill to tell them that Elijah is dead. They suggest that they can work together to kill Klaus.
Luka and Jonas return home and while the former seems receptive to the idea, Jonas on the other hand tells him that Stefan and Damon are their enemies and need to be dealt with.
Luka asks if he is going to kill them, and Jonas says that he will let Elijah do it.

Stefan arrives after his meeting with Luka and Jonas and explains that Elijah had no weapon to kill Klaus. He reveals that Elijah thought if a witch could channel enough power, he wouldn't need one and Damon realizes that's why Elijah wanted to find the site of the witches' massacre.
Meanwhile, Jonas takes Luka's hand and casts a spell to send Luka's spirit to find Elijah's body.
Luka's spirit arrives at the Salvatore house and sees Katherine - although he thinks it is Elena - reading with Damon. He heads downstairs as Katherine moans that she is bored.
She asks Damon if he has discovered the site of the massacre and he says he hasn't.
She announces that she is hungry and goes downstairs to get some blood.
Luka sees her in the cellar and Katherine feels his presence, but can't see him. Stefan arrives home and Damon claims that he can't find any mention of the massacre site, but silently shows Stefan a page.
However, before they could read what they found, Kaeden arrives and with Shante by his side. Before either boys could ask what they're doing, Shante cast a sleep spell on them, which they'll wake within an hour.
Meanwhile, Luka crouches by Elijah and Katherine appears at the cellar door. As Luka pulls out the dagger, Katherine sees it and rushes to push it back in.
Luka tells his father that 'Elena' is stronger than him, but Jonas reveals that it is actually Katherine and tells Luka to stake her. Luka goes to find a stake and knocks something over, causing Katherine to shout for Damon. Luka stakes her as Kaeden arrives instead of the eldest Salvatore Brother.
Shante snaps Katherine's neck and Kaeden takes the body elsewhere. He has his cousin send a message to The Martins on where to find him and Elijah. And sends for Maeve to find a couple of blood bags and for Tyler to lend him one of his dad's suits.
Also to make sure neither of the Salvatore Brothers tries to use his mom or Tyler as leverage to give Elijah's body back, Kaeden tells the Lockwood wolf to stay at his place until he smoothed things over. And with Avery, theres no way Damon is getting what he wants.
Turns out Kaeden has other plans.

Kaeden and his brothers helped build it with help from a few other members of the pack from Texas. It not only serves as a getaway for The Chadwicks, but in case Kaeden and his old man were to do some brutal training. And to cut loose by going into their wolf forms and roam around freely without humans stumbling upon them.
Kaeden admits, he actually likes it out in the woods. Maybe that's the lycan/werewolf within him talking, but something about the smell of the woods out his mind at ease. Being around nature and all that.
Remembering the plan, Bonnie puts Jeremy to sleep, making sure he doesn't follow her to the cabin. Tyler is driven by Avery as to not arose suspicions. He drops him off nearby and Tyler brings the suits just like Kaeden asked for. "No one followed us. Avery cloaked us from Stefan and Damon." Lockwood assured them.
"I've also cloaked the place, and used some Sage. So we can talk freely here." Maeve added.
"Once Elijah awakes, he's gonna be pissed. Not that I blame him, considering dumbass and dumbasser (Alaric and Damon) tried killing him with that dagger." Kaeden was fed up with those two. It's one of the reasons he doesn't trust Damon or Alaric for that matter. And he considers the latter to be a poor excuse of a vampire hunter. Like Damon is a vampire, was the one who turned his wife into a vampire and now they're friends? He's like "the fuck is wrong with him?" Regardless, he's doing things his way. Plus Shante felt Luka's presence and knew right away that he was trying to undagger Elijah. Either way, it's time they put their plans into motion. "Alright, he's gonna need to feed and he's gonna be mad as fuck. So all of y'all better leave, aight? I've text Elena. Since she's targeted by Klaus, it's only natural she should hear what Elijah has to say. Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to her. And there's on more thing I need one of y'all to do." They all agreed and they all left.
Kaeden was lucky to have thought everything through. Honestly he cannot trust the Salvatore Brothers when it comes to Elijah or Klaus. These Originals are dangerous if they're being plotted against. So, he's gonna do this his way. And if Stefan and Damon don't like it, well they can kiss his black ass for all he gives a shit. But this is not what he's gonna do, and that's not get killed because of those fools.
He then gets a call from Luka. He answers it. "Hey, your girlfriend told me where to find Elijah. And my dad is gonna go get Elena and bring her to him."
"Cool. Just make sure The Salvatore Brothers don't see you. And if they do, I trust you're not rusty when it comes to magical neck snaps." Kaeden smirked after saying that.
"Hell nah. I've used it on a couple of vamps here and there." Luka replied. "Say, thanks again, Kae. I should've trusted you with why my dad and I were here. I'm glad you're helping us."
"You're one of my dawgs, Lu. Ain't nothin gonna change that. Just follow through with the plan and Elijah will help us out. Let me know when you're near."
"Gotcha." They hang up and now Kaeden waits. Seeing Elijah's body inside a salt circle barrier spell. And he's cloaked so no one can find him.
"Soon, Elijah, you and I are gonna have a talk."
