After his uncle and cousin left, and questioning Tyler about this anger he's been having, he and him drove to school as their mom was too tired and Kaeden figured after Tyler fell asleep on his couch, he read a book that details werewolf bloodlines.

He looks through it and the only names that pop up are Crescent, Deep Water, Malroux, BosRoq, Poldark, Barry, and Paxon. Now he's Malroux, but none of these bloodlines are here in Mystic Falls. At least he thinks so. And if his best friend is a carrier of the werewolf gene, he wonders how he missed it and which of theses bloodlines he comes from. It is common for most werewolves to break of from other pack members to forge their own bloodline or pack.

Kaeden will have to dig into this later. But right now, he's on his way to see Alaric. After Jeremy leaves the classroom, the young Gilbert boy side eyes him, Kaeden doesn't pay no mind to him.

He enters the classroom and meets with Alaric. "Hey, Kaeden. I'm glad that we can talk."

"If this is about my paper..." Kaeden starts but Alaric cuts him off.

"Don't worry. Unlike Tanner, I'm pretty sure it's great. I just wanna say it's pretty good. I actually read on your family. You descend from one of The Chadwick Brothers."

Kaeden doesn't know why he would be asking that, but nods. "Yeah. One of the brother actually settled into Texas. Only I think it was somewhere in the 1800s."

It's pretty risky, given it was a slave state."

Kaeden then says. "The history of African Americans in Austin dates back to 1839, when the first African American, Mahala Murchison, arrived. By the 1860s, several communities were established by freedmen that later became incorporated into the city proper. And let's just say my family has a habit of fighting for freedom and what not. And sure there were a couple of harassments from the KKK, but we stood strong."

Alaric knows all too well what the KKK has done to African Americans. It was all brutal. And yet he read somewhere that a group of KKK target a black family. Lynched. And oddly enough, that same group along with a few others in Texas were all wiped out. The locals say animal attack. And Alaric wanted to know if Marcus is a vampire, but he sees no Daylight Ring.

And another reason is because his family didn't stay in Texas that long, but before they did moved, they heard about these attacks and they packed up their stuff and leave. And this is were The Saltzman Teacher drops the bomb on Marcus (if you can call it that). "My family actually knew yours."

"Really?" Kaeden asked, raising a single brow.

"Yeah, only one of them. Your great, grandfather. Marius. My grandfather said he never shy away from a fight and he wasn't scared of anyone. I'm guessing you standing up to Mayor Lockwood is a sign that you inherited his bravery."
