Coming up with criteria for judging fan-fiction can be a bit tricky since it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I think it's important to have some different criteria than those used for novels.

Title and Book Cover (max. 10 points)

Does the title catch your attention and stand out? Is it memorable?

What aspects do you appreciate about the book cover? Does it accurately represent the story? Is it too much?

Blurb (max. 10 points)

Does the blurb capture your interest and make you want to read the story?

Did the author pay attention to grammar and punctuation in the blurb? Was there an appropriate amount of information given or too much/too little?

Plot (max. 5 points)

Is the plot engaging and well-developed? Are there any inconsistencies or plot holes? Are there intriguing subplots worth noting?

Creative expansion (max. 5 points)

Does the fanfiction offer innovative and intriguing expansions upon the existing world of the source material?

Are there new locations, cultures, or storylines introduced that complement the original work?

Narrative seamlessness (max. 5 points)

How smoothly does the fanfiction integrate with the existing narrative of the source material?

Does it seamlessly fit within the established storyline or diverge in a compelling and coherent manner?

Fan community impact (max. 5 points)

Consider the potential impact of the fanfiction within the fan community.

Does it inspire discussion, provoke thought, or generate excitement among fans of the original work?

Writing quality (max. 20 points)

Assess the overall quality of the writing, including grammar, syntax, and narrative structure.

Is the prose engaging, polished, and suitable for the intended audience?

Character growth and evolution (max. 10 points)

Analyze how the fanfiction allows characters to grow and evolve over the course of the story, including changes in their beliefs, values, or goals.

Story Flow (max. 5 points)

Does the pacing of the story feel appropriate and consistent throughout?

Overall Impression (max. 5 points)

Did you enjoy the story? Would you recommend it to others?
