Jennie's POV

Despite the continuous calls from Ji Yong and Lia, I hesitated to leave Y/N's side. My gaze lingered on Y/N, my heart torn between the demands of my professional life and my desire to stay with Y/N a little longer.

As Y/N noticed my lingering gaze, she quirked an eyebrow in silent inquiry, silently prompting me to speak her mind.

Feeling the weight of unspoken words pressing against my lips, I took a deep breath, gathering my courage to express what was on my mind.

As I held Y/N's arm gently, she turned to me with a questioning look in her eyes. I took a deep breath, gathering the courage to express what had been swirling in my mind for a while now.

I think... we could try being friends first,

I began, my voice a bit hesitant yet determined.

You know, talk to each other, spend some time together.

Y/N's expression softened, and she gave me a warm smile.

I think that's a great idea, Jennie,

she said, her eyes reflecting genuine appreciation.

Thank you for suggesting it. I really appreciate you trying to be friends.

With those words, Y/N enveloped me in a comforting hug, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe this was the start of something new, something beautiful between us.

Later, as I returned to my office, I couldn't shake off the feeling of contentment that had settled within me. Perhaps this decision was the right step towards building a stronger bond with Y/N.

Jennie's POV

As I finished answering a few emails, exhaustion weighed heavy on my shoulders, and I found myself longing for a moment's respite. Glancing around, I noticed that my friends had already left, leaving the office eerily quiet as everyone else began to trickle out for the day.

With a sigh, I pushed myself up from my chair, feeling the strain of the day's work settle into my bones. Curiosity piqued, I decided to check on Jisoo, hoping for a brief distraction from the monotony of my tasks.

Peeking into Jisoo's cabin, I found her in the midst of closing her laptop, a telltale sign that she was ready to call it a day. Frowning slightly, I inquired about her early departure, puzzled by the prospect of a dinner that I hadn't heard about.

Where are you off to so soon unnie?? A date hm??

I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. Jisoo looked up, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she replied,

Oh, just a dinner that Jungkook planned. I assumed Y/N would have told you.

My heart skipped a beat as realization dawned upon me, and I quickly retrieved my phone to check for any messages I might have missed. Sure enough, there it was – a message from Y/N, urging me to be ready for dinner by 8:15 PM.

Blushing at my oversight, I couldn't help but chuckle at the gentle teasing from Jisoo.

Guess I got a little too wrapped up in work,

 I admitted sheepishly.

Thanks for the reminder unnie or else I would have been here all night.
